    Default Balec 2001Reels not working

    I recently obtained a 2001 Baltec-Tatsujin machine.

It sat outside so it has some water damage to the case. Also not sure if it's 100%. I've messed around with a few arcade machines and pinball so not new to electromechanical things b, but new to thus type of machine.

I manages to replace a broken reel spinner control. So I'm stuck at the point to try to get the reels to stop. No issues with getting tokens to read, and getting the reels to spin. I get zero lights to the stop buttons, after the reels start spinning, can't get the reels to stop.

I have tested all the fuses on the power supply and the stop board. All test good, and fuse holder tests good. I have reset all the cables with no luck.

Not sure what part is broken, or needs to replaced.

I do get the max bet button working.i also have tested the stop button board, each button show connectivity when depressed. Ribbon cable between stop button board and big board shows good.

    I

    Any help would be appreciated.

I appreciate the welcome. I am new to these machines, but not new to electromechanic machines. I have restored a few arcades.

as you can see, I have no lights on the stop buttons when the reels are spinning. All the other lights seem to work. Please ignore the obvious water damage to the machine, and the broken glass on the front. One step at a time.

If a button or start lever is sticking on. it can block the signals and effect play.

I'll go through all the buttons and make sure I get good action out of them. I think the max bet button sticks slightly.

I have gone through all the buttons. The max bet button was sticking, but no longer. I have tested all the buttons for connectivity, and no button are stuck in the closed/partial closed position. I only show connectivity through the button when fully depressed.

Still the same situation, though the max bet button works a lot better.

    Any thoughts?

Long time ago I had a "Death Valley" machine that the spin knob assembly was out of alignment. And wouldn't spin with credits in the machine.

the spin knob is a brand new part. I order off ebay. It appears good, and isn't sticky. It definitely spins the reels with credits in the machine.

Not 100% sure. But I guess the stop button and illumination is fed from the stop board. I would double check the fuse with a meter rather than visual. Then start testing for voltage out to the stop board and to said switches and button lights. Continuity of the wiring from the main board to stop board, even remove the button board and test that. If using IR switches, are they working or is an emitter or receiver faulty causing an input block.

    Appreciate the help.
There's no voltage coming out of the pins that go to the stop button board. I see some water damage on the stop board, so I'm going to replace it. I'll update the thread when I get the new stop board.

new stop reel board fixed my problem. Only weird aspect, I have to start a game, let it time out before the buttons will stop the reels. Once that happens, it plays great. Bonus, mas bet button, etc. It just left it in the mode, so it starts up playing good.

Thanks again for the help. Now time to fix all the cosmetic issues.

I'll experiment with it more. I'm pretty sure just once when the game goes from service mode back to game mode.
Once the machine times out once, it plays flawless. Push over a 100 tokens through, buttons always work after the initial time out of the reels. Lights up flawless.

It's like some strange boot mode. I'm new to these machines, so it may be some quirk i'm not used to.

the other things that is weird, I have to push 3 tokens through the machine before it starts counting tokens in it. I'm not sure if that's normal or not.
After the 3 token goes into the machine, the token counter starts incrementing. (it starts at 1) Machine will be empty I'll push 3 tokens though it, token counter is at 0, and push the coin release it does spit out 3 tokens. So it must be counting them, but i figured it would increment the token counter immediately. It does play fine, so it's not affecting game play as far as i know.

I'm new to these machines, so I don't understand the machine completely.
