    Default 90's Heiwa "Mahjong Story"

So there is supposedly the first LCD table ever, named Mahjong Story in 91, which then continued with a successor called Lemon Pai. I'm really interested in getting ahold of either of these machines, but particularly Mahjong Story as the sound of playing it is really nice, and it's a cool piece of history.

But I'm not sure how exactly to get ahold of one outside of just checking yahoo jp auctions, how much these era of machines are worth, or what the pitfalls that associated with the earliest LCD machines might be. Is there anything important I should know or consider while looking for one? Thanks.

There are a couple already in the states. Your best bet might be trying to find one there and do a deal with someone.
Unfortunately in Japan its a highly desirable machine judging by previous YJA completed sales.

Wow, that's pretty expensive compared to newer machines. I thought it'd be cheaper since it's so old but nope. Although I guess that makes sense considering they weren't really built to last. All of these listings even say "treated as junk" and have issues. I'm okay with electronics so I'm not worried about stuff like replacing bulbs, but I wouldn't want to end up with a big brick.

Either way, how would I connect with people in the states that have these machines? Not sure where to look other than ebay, yahoo and the couple of different stateside pachinko retailers that come up on google.

    and ginger snap cookies

As a owner since 2002 of Modern Pachinko Machines This is true. . .

They are really made to stay working great for a maximum of Five years so the parlors in Japan can recoup their cost .Then they are toss to the curb to be sent to China for dismantling and stripping of usable parts .

Some of the modern if not all have a bunch of custom integrated circuits that were made for that model of machine .

But capacitor, resistors, transistors, and some generic integrated circuits are replaceable .
When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS
