Help with resetting a 2001 Olympia Las Vegas pachislo

Hello!

New here. I've had this machine for many years. It has always worked fine. I hit a jackpot and didn't have enough tokens in it to payout. I opened it and tried too reset it but to no avail. I've reset it before, but can't seem to do it this time. It just displays a "1" on the front "Count" display. I've read many manuals about how to reset similar machines, but no luck. Any ideas?

Have you tried a soft reset, turning the door key to the left?

Full reset (sometimes referred to here as the hard reset) it includes changing or setting the odds as part of the procedure..

"TURN YOUR MACHINE OFF FIRST"

1. Locate internal key switch, and insert key.
Note: In order to change odds, machine must be in idle mode with no tokens/coins or credits being played and off.

2. Turn "reset" key switch to on, to access programming mode.

3. Turn on machine now.

4. Depending on machine type, a number from 1 to 6 will be displayed on one of the LED meters on front door.

5. Locate and push Odds setting button. Depress button and notice movement of number being displayed in LED meter.

6. Once desired level is displayed (1 to 6), push down on play handle (Joy Stick) for 10 seconds.

7. Turn "reset" key back to off.

8. Machine should immediately initialize. If not, turn power switch to the OFF position, wait 15 seconds and turn power switch back to ON position.

Also, posting pictures of your machine can help us to identify it. Chances are the "Vegas" theme is a quickie conversion of something else, reasonably common for imported machines.

Here are some pics. Also, I thought it was a 2001, but it's a 2002. I have the key and have used it many times, but my key snapped this time when I tried to open it, but, I was able to unlatch it through the back. That being said, the key lock mechanism was stuck and after opening it through the back it sort of fell out the back and was in the extra coin bucket when the front opened? I cobbled it back together and put it where it should go, but I'm not clear if the little arm should be in between the 2 little sensors next to the red rest button on the back panel? I've tried the sequence given to me a later post, but no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, does anyone know of a solution to the above issue? I've just bought the same machine, everything works as it should except the "odds" button. When in hard reset the odds button LED will not cycle 1-6. It stays on 1. When I press the spin lever "odds level 1" does lock in ok.

Sorry, cancel that particular post/question. I found that the odds button is the white button on the power supply (see image). However, I don't know what the red button on the back of the door is (see image). I tried it for volume but it didn't change. Any ideas anyone?

Oh mystery button. Might be a reset button as there doesn't seem to be one on the black PSU

Thanks for the reply. I was just messing with it and when I pressed it the credits count went to -- -- (two horizontal lines), which I'm assuming mean zero credits. But I don't understand why.

It looks like the wires under the red button go to the lock which can be turned for a soft reset (reset after a bonus if the switch for that is on) so I'd guess the red button does the same thing!?

Thanks Mrgneiss. Yes....that is what it's for. I also looked in my copy of the Everything Pachislo manual (as suggested by takethecastle57) and found the answer on page 35. In future, I must remember that I have that manual before posting. I'm going to stick a label on the inside of each of my machines as a reminder. Thanks again.
