WTB Sankyo Densha de Go / Go by Train

Looking for a Sankyo Densha de Go! / Go by Train! pachinko, the original. One of two machines on my "should have bought it when I saw it years ago, now it keeps passing me by" list.

I know there was at least a regular and an EX version - I have no preference but would lean more toward the regular (left and center), as I like the busier background.



Willing to import or pay to ship but if the stars align, preferably in or around the greater San Jose bay area / Silicon Valley. Anywhere within 100 miles or so is fine to be honest and I'd move on it immediately.

I'm a Densha de Go! super fan (can't swing one of the full-size arcade machines but I do have one of the giant bubble marquees from the first game hanging on my living room wall - which amazingly I found at a show 10 miles away from me) and one of these would be like the pinnacle.

If you have one please let me know. If you have a lead on one that would be incredibly awesome as well! Thanks!

Thanks! I know everyone loves the second machine with the gate and crossbuck but the first one is what I'm after.

I don't have the plug and play, was thinking about it but it's essentially built on the PlayStation 2 release Densha de Go! Final, so I saved the money as not to cover the same ground again. Truth be told the older games are what I enjoy most, especially Densha de Go! Professional. The 2017 modern arcade game is pretty cool though, constantly updated and also features the first two games as secondary modes. Was able to put some time on one of them last weekend:

There's a west coast distributor, Game Saru, that has the 2017 compact cabinet as shown there and has brought it to some shows and conventions in the area. That was at the California Extreme arcade show last weekend in Santa Clara. They tend to exhibit there every year and I've heard from them that Densha de Go! has been one of the most popular games every time it has been out this year.

I know they can import you a cabinet - I believe they're in the $2K range starting, and that + the size + the weight puts it way, way, way out of my league.

Nope, all Japanese. It's funny how many people at these shows who don't speak / read Japanese:

A) Already know how to play the game.
B) Are given quick info by someone who knows how to play the game and do fine.

Lots of people know know what to do though, which is awesome. Granted the modern games really do hold your hand a bit and are far more accessible. The Densha de Go! and Densha de Go! 2 modes are straight up simulated versions of the first two arcade titles, strict difficulty and all - however if you're familiar with those games you can make a full run on a single credit. The side screens are replaced with kind of a virtual game center scene in those modes. This was playing the Akita Komachi Shinkansen (DDG2) route - easily my favorite in the series - at an earlier event this year, FanimeCon, which I believe was the first time they had this machine at an event:



The 2017 machine uses a touch screen at the bottom to recreate the instrument cluster and auxiliary panel of each individual trainset. For the older games it really just simulates the older cabinet. The only thing I don't like about the 2017 release is it uses a single lever throttle / brake combination, which is the modern standard. I prefer the floating throttle and separate rotating brake of the earlier games.

I believe the $2K rate that Game Saru has listed Densha de Go! machines for is for the older titles (up through Densha de Go! 3). I'd guess the 2017 cabinet is still huge money from first-run distributors as they're still making first-run game center money on them.
