    Default Interesting Vintage

I saw this vintage, not sure what it is, Maruhon?? Anyway, any time I see anything extra with wires on the back of a vintage I post!! It's probably just something boring, but figured it's best to post just in case!! $100 BIN..

Yes a Maruhon. I was tempted by the uniqueness also, so now this makes the 3rd Maruhon in a row that I have picked up.

Yes, I have since 1977 off and on collected, traded, sold ,and adopted Pachi's but I have reached the time in my life that with my Last purchase D-Clock that I have enough machines .

So all you Lucky Collectors get the machines that I am not getting.

I also have enough machines to tinker and restore when the muse strikes me.

It is already on the way. Not sure how he is shipping it all the way across the county for $32

I paid $37 with Parcelmonkee.com to get the Maruhon single shot that came last week from Indiana, which I thought was a pretty good deal.

It arrived today. The right hand side of the bottom tray is broken courtesy of poor packing and very brittle plastic more that UPS rough handling. All the parts are were in the box, so I guess I can try my reassemble and superglue technique to see if I can get it presentable.

Here are better pics of the center feature
Yellow shield and background rotate and the center wheel with the paddle rotates as well.

The rear has two separate wiring systems, the normal vintage system and an add on system for this feature with heavier wires and it's own inline fuse.

    maruhonrear1.jpg maruhonrear2.jpg
top microswitch follows a cam on the motor with one notch in it which is attached to, and turns the yellow shield and background in the front.

The center shaft of the motor appears to be turning some kind of chain to operate the center wheel. Can just see what look like shiny links through that small hole with a flashlight.

The other switch is triggered by the operation of the ball dump arm.

maruhonrear3.jpg Here is a close up of the relay and I believe that is a capacitor next to it. Maruhonback4.jpg

Can't say exactly what happens to balls that go into this center......they get kicked out at random angles based on the relative positions of the shield and the paddle on the center wheel when the payout arm operates?
And as an observation, the whole center feature feels very sloppy and delicate

looks to me that every jackpot cycle will activate the center feature to rotate, giving the player a chance to score the open center
