Default Help ID my modern but 80s Nishijin

Heyohhhh, I’ve successfully restored four or five older Nishijin machines and my buddy saddled me with this newer one. It’s got circuits and clippies and wires galore.

I would really appreciate any help in identifying what age this is, and where to find any manuals/guides/plans/parts for a machine like this. I don’t even have the right vocab words to google this type of machine.

    Thanks so much!!

As I said, I've only restored 1970's machines and I do not know what to expect with this one at all. I don't know how it's supposed to work and I'm hoping someone can direct me to a resource that would. My hope is that it just needs some cleanup on the insides, which I've got lots of experience with... but I don't even know how it's supposed to work!

    Nishijin

Came out some time late 1990

Hard pressed to find any info regarding repair. I see it comes with a transformer, so 120V is fine.

It's a Hanemono, or 'Wing' type. Getting a ball in the pockets at the bottom with the '1' or '2' will open the wings (once for a 1, twice for a 2) (left and right below the pirate guy) allowing balls to go in the center. If a ball enters the 'V' pocket at the bottom of the center feature, a bonus occurs where the wings open repeatedly and lots of balls can enter. From what I gather, you get 8 rounds of so many balls (not sure how many) into the center. This game is an 'All 13' meaning every ball in a pocket pays 13 balls.

Thank you so much for this info! I saw online that some of these machines you twist and hold the "flipper" and then it fires the balls automatically. Do you think this is that type?

Also, this was clearly brought to America and then resold, do you think I need to worry about it working weird with our electricity? The owner said that when he plugged it in, it lit up and did a big sound/light show. But I don't want to plug it in if I'm going to fry everything. It's got a regular U.S. ungrounded plug on the back.

With that transformer it should be fine.
Yes, twist the handle and they fire automatically. The farther to the right you turn the handle, the harder it shoots so you can 'aim' for which side of the playfield you want. I'm not sure about this vintage, but normally you have to be touching that chrome part of the handle for it to shoot. Also, not sure, but there should be a button behind the twisty handle about where your thumb is that will pause the shooting until released. Again, not sure about that with this age machine.

Thank you so much! I'm going to dig into it and see if I can clean it up a bit and make it go. Fingers crossed! There are already a bunch of little clippies that are broken -- the kind that on an older machine allows you to swing some of the moving bits away from the actual board. They're little four prong flower type clips with a rubber shim inside to keep them pushed apart. I may have to 3D print some of those. Pray for me!

Also bare in mind. The shooter controls the force the balls are fired with. Not the amount of balls fired per minute.

I have this exact same machine and mine is working great. There is also a button on the shooter knob that allows you to keep it twisted, but pause firing of the balls.

If you need assistance, you can reach out to me.

Also, that blue & white cable pair is for the speaker. I added a potentiometer to it so I could lower the volume as it is a very loud machine.

I have this exact machine. It's freaky how alike they are. I have no electronic activity though the mechanicals are working fine. I could use help as well. Let me know what you find.
