Default Unknown Sankyo Parts - What Do They Do

I'm restoring a Sankyo pachinko machine, I've got everything taken apart and I'm cleaning it all up. I've have two metal pieces that almost look like they had some kind of gold anodized finish, they're pretty beat up looking and I haven't been able to polish them up with 4/0 steel wool. I don't know what purpose they serve, if I even need them or how to restore them. On one hand I was thinking about throwing them away, my other thought was to try to spray paint them silver and put them back.

    What do you guys think?

I would call those dust covers. Not crucial for play. Finger protectors?

In the parlour, there would be pachinko ball lifters filling the reward trays.
Pachinko balls might bounce in there and mess things up.
Not so likely in your house.

I would say the lower cover is an anti-bounce cover, the other could be an anti-cheat thing that keeps you from sticking something around the frame to trip wins.
I don't know if ball lifters were used then, or just coming into use. Most had women refilling from inside the aisle.

So I guess the parts aren't really necessary for the machine to function, so what would you guys do? Paint them or toss them?

Me, I'd keep em cause they're part of the machine, but that's me...

Kind of how I felt too. What would you suggest to "restore" them? They're too far gone to polish out, so I'm thinking of spray painting them, but can't decide on a color.

I was probably overthinking this thing, I just sprayed it with some aluminum colored paint, I can live with it, much better than it was.
