Thunderbirds Pachislo sound issue help. Before I use a hammer.....

Afternoon all. I bought 2 Thunderbirds machines off a guy, 1 pachinko and 1 Pachislo. With the help of some people from here I managed to fix the myriad of issues with the pachinko. But now I'm stuck on what I thought was a much simpler issue with the Pachislo.

It works fine, except the sound, there isn't any. The speakers hum (as alot of these do due to interference from the screen), which usually I'd fix with some extra volume pots. However I'm not getting any sound, no credit sound, stop sound or video sound.

When I change the built in 3 way switch I get a pop through the speakers between each setting. The speakers look fine, as do the wires, as does the board.

Does anybody have any idea what's going on or how to fix? It may well be the board, but there's no visual damage, burning or anything.

The wire from the board enters here, the small white one below is for one of the speakers.

The wire carrying the sound comes from the board where my thumb is, the switch I'm referring to is where my finger is.

It is not the transformer, I have an external one that I use for more than 1 machine and it works fine on others.

Hi, one is a pachinko, the other (this one) a Pachislo, so unfortunately not. I have lots of other pachislos, but that doesn't help as they're all different. Thanks

Here is a shot that sometimes fixes static or complete loss of sound. With the machine off, See if you can find a hole in the switch housing and spray the switches with electronics contact cleaner while rocking them back and forth. Maybe that will work.

Hi, do you mean the 3 way volume switch? I did wonder if it was the contacts on the back of the board, so I re-soldered them, but no dice. I'll give this a try, worth a shot. It's clearly responding in some manner as when you change the switch between the 3 settings you get a pop through the speakers.
