Default 2002 SANKYO "Wanted" not opening Jackpot Door

    Hi All,

I have picked up a "Wanted" Pachinko and am having an issue with the Jackpot door not opening during fever mode.

Everything else on the machine is working fine, and there are no error codes.

Others on my FB group have suggested tearing down the machine to get to the mech to check all the wire connections, but I have never taken a modern machine apart that far.

Is there any other way to check the functionality of the unit?

If I do need to tear it down, is there any how-to for taking these apart?

    Thanks in advanced,

    Matt

Power to the machine and connectors .

    24volts a.c. And at least 5 amps current .

The connectors that you can reach without disassembly "Work" the connectors disconnect and connect to break corrosion or a dull film that does develop if not kept in a climate control storage area .

Photos of the back of the machine and careful examination of the back electronics and connectors may help you .

When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS

Without sounding daft or insulting. Is it in fever?

Failing that. It's a strip.down job. The trapdoor is normally opened by a solenoid. You might be able to locate it and trace the wiring back. Check to see if its gunked up. Some will let you open them easierly. But don't use to much force.

Don't be afraid to take it apart, it was designed to come apart easily. Take photos along the way. You are the only one in charge of keeping it working now, do your duty and dig in! (no, not that kind of doody!)

I do have the same frame but a different cell game. On mine all the connections are tied to the cell but could be similar to yours. I took a couple of pictures to perhaps lead you in the right direction.

In nearly the center of the back I have a board marked SPYN2A. The 3 four wire connectors run to the trap door. In the other picture from the backside upper left next to the reels is a brown four wire connector that also runs to the trap door. Check all these connections if they are on your cell. Unplug and reseat them.

If they are good then it's time to go further with a lot of wires to unplug and parts to inslide out of the way. It looks intimidating but very simple as the wire connectors are all color coded and of various sizes.

Thanks for all the info, I will take a look at the game this evening and report back, too bad there isn't a diagnostic mode to test these functions! I guess I'll be dropping a lot of balls to test.

WANTED: 10¥ candystore games, pre-1950s Japanese machines, スマートボール (Smart Ball), 1948 Bally Heavy Hitter, Pickwick-style (~1905)

I pulled and reseated the connections you pointed out, was able to get into another fever, but still no jackpot door. Was able to manually open it and progress through the fever (went for like 13 rounds!). Next step is to tackle taking it completely apart to see if I can find something in the mechanization of the door. On the bright side, I was able to covert the lock to be able to be used with a blank key.

Fevers usually go 15 rounds but best of luck with the investigation .

What you need to do. Is check the solenoid coil for continuity and resistance and test the incoming voltage during a fever. That's the hard part.

This is why working on pinball machines is soo much easier, they have a full diagnostic menu to test all the mechanics…

Yes these can be such a challenge to sort out, but getting them running is satisfying.

My wife's Seven Mission machine was tipped over and the start pocket quit registering balls going thru to start the reels. Found a loose connection deep within and hoping that was the problem.

While having it apart I took the following picture which might be like your cell. The red center block has two sensors for balls going thru the fever round trap door. Off to either side are solenoids which open the trap door.

does it really matter that door is not opening, it saving you from filling top hopper 4 times during the fever round? all your losing is 2000 balls running through machine, and the work of filling the hopper
