Default Uninterrupted Power Supply : Pure Sine Wave of Simulated Sine Wave

    Howdy Folks

So we all know that a Professional Surge protector Strip used in top of line Stereo equipment is needed to protect or Modern Pachinko and Skill Stop Slot but it has come to my attention that the Power coming from our grounded home sockets might not be "Clean Power" it could be not 60 herz (USA) or 50herz (Europe) or lower or higher than 120vac or 220vac .

Some of the best ups have Automatic Voltage Regulation so the voltage surge and voltage under surge (brownouts) don't get to our stuff.

When the U.P.S. Goes on batteries cause of a power outage the 60 or 50 Herz might not be getting to our devices and that could cause damage.

    So simulated sine wave ups

    Or Pure Sine Wave Ups

    Which one is better ?

All of these are a line-interactive UPS, they provide very little additional protection over a standard surge protector, so unless you really want to keep playing your pachis during a power outage, there's little reason to consider using them.

I can understand in high end audio wanting to use a double conversion UPS (where the incoming AC is converted to the DC battery voltage, and then that DC voltage is then converted to a pure sinewave output voltage) as this will remove any incoming line noise from the output supply, which may be audible on the output of the amplifier. But this approach is pointless for devices that use switch mode power supplies, as this is essentially the same process as a modern power supply (the incoming AC is converted to a high DC voltage, then this is converted by the switch mode power supply to the lower output DC voltage).

Pachinko power supplies are very robust, they already incorporate most of the features of a typical surge protector. They include sacrificial components that will blow the fuse in an overvoltage event, and like all switch mode power supplies, they are tolerant of low input voltages and 'brown-out' events and will safely shut down. There have been several pachinkos that have been revived from a 24v input being connected directly to 120v line voltage, and this is significantly worse than any power surge you'd expect to see (short of a direct lightning strike, which no plug in surge protector, or line interactive UPS will be capable of stopping).

So in short, you won't get any significant additional protection from a UPS than you will with a good quality plug in surge protector. If you live in an area that has a high risk of lightning strikes, then you are much better off investing in a 'whole house' surge protection system than anything that plugs into an outlet.
