Miracle Panchos Arrangeball

Today, I decided the machine needs a token holder.

So, here's what I threw together, with some roof flashing, rubber washers and an old plastic housing from a tv mounting bracket.

I don't think it turned out to bad. Kind of looks like it could of been part of the original machine.
It holds 50 tokens.

It was a very sad day, about 2 months ago, at Wayne-Ooo's Pachinko Garage.

I went to turn on the arrangeball machine and wouldn't register any tokens. The machine powered on, but it wouldn't play. You could release the balls manually and launch them into the playfield and the numbers would lite up, but after shooting the 16 balls, it wouldn't pay out or you couldn't start a new game by inserting another token.

My thoughts were that some component on the main circuit board had gone bad. There is a red led on the board that was normally lite when the machine is turned on and it was not lite up. Knowing very little about electronics, I was in search of someone to check out the circuit board.

I think I contacted over a dozen different electronics companies, that do circuit board repair, and no one works on boards like these.

There is a local "chatter forum" on facebook, for the town I live in, and posted a picture of the circuit board and asked for help in finding someone to look at it.
Long story short, someone responded, that I knew of and he came over last night and looked at the machine.

He thought it would be no problem to fix and took it home with him, being all his equipment was there.

Guess I'll see what happens.

Surprisingly, he brought the machine back today. It's working perfect!

The problem was a faulty "T" regulator on the back of the circuit board.

We need to get the guy who fixed the circuit board for Wayne-Ooo hooked on pachinko/arrangeball and on to this forum so we can pick his brain if and when we have similar issues.

I was lucky that he responded to my Facebook post for help.

He definitely knows these "70's electronics. He said the electronics in these machines are about as simple as it gets and any of it could be fixed as long as the chip that has the programming on it was good.

He thought the machine was very interesting, but I didn't get the feeling he was "bitten" by the "Pachinko bug".

I did mention that others may have machines with similar problems, but he acted as if he really wasn't wanting to pursue it and I didn't press the issue.

So, I'm afraid you guys are going to have to find your own "electronics guy".
