Default Magical Carpet 2003 Victory Frame Questions

I have the 2003 version of Magical Carpet, in the Sankyo Victory frame.
I've had this unit since 2008, and never really tinkered with it till now.
Unit is clean and works great with no error codes. I've taken it apart and reassembled it a few times just to see how it all works.

My question is, does this unit have any operator options? Right now it just sits on a looping video and that's about it.
When I play it it lights up and makes sound when a ball scores, but does not go in to a bonus round. I've never gotten the guy on the carpet to move.
I'm about to purchase the card reader emulator. Would that enable more of the game?
I would assume there are options that can be access using the screen for an operator, but you know what they say about assumptions.
    Thanks!

Welcome to Pachitalk. It's true that some games offer different character options however I am not familiar with that cell you have. The odds are fixed on Victory era games and are listed on the upper right of the playfield inside. A cardreader emulator will allow you to buy balls from the prize tray using the front buttons that currently dont do snything. You should at least be getting different reaches ( spins that are especially animated with new music or sound that give you 2 matching symbols and grsphic antics tryong to get the third one. Please confirm that you get those types of spins and they are all not the same.

A dongle will not unlock extra features just make the play experience easier.

If when a ball goes in the start pocket, your getting a pay out of (approx) 3 balls and the video reels respond. Then that part of the machine is working fine. It could be just terrible odds. I once had a Cutie Honey have over 900 spins before hitting a jackpot. But it did have some reach videos before hand.

Magical Carpet is a hanemono style gameplay machine; not a digipachi, so plays differently. (Skill based gameplay with 2 balls in play required to start a fever.) Sounds like your center feature isn’t functioning as it should. The Aladdin figure in the flying carpet moves around and should sometimes allow a ball into the “v” victory hole which starts the Fever round. Do the moving gates/arms around the center feature open when you score a ball in the holes labeled #1 and #2 as they should?

A video of what it is or isn’t doing might help.

It’s a hanemono; there’s no matching symbols for these type, nor are there “spins” to bank like a digipachi. These take much more timing and skill than a regular ole digipachi!

    I’ve got a newer one:

Hanemonos pay out waaay more frequently than digipachis! If you can’t get some sort of fever on a hanemono within 10 mins of playing it; even just a 3 round fever, you are either drunk or an unskilled player that should pack it up for the day! Or maybe the nails are set too tight or mechanical/electronic center feature malfunction.

This is how your’s should function (what is yours not doing?) Do the “Jasmin” (Aladdin’s lady) arms open like they should to allow balls to get to the V hole?

Ah. I didn't know it's a hanemono. That's a whole different ball game. As above. Open the glass. Drop a ball into either the 1 or 2 pockets. The arms around the centre feature will open briefly ( as per the video. This is the girls moving) then when open. Drop a ball into the centre feature. And try to get the V pocket.

More of a zebra, than a horse.
