WIP personal mod to a machine with ground: Removable cable.

i have a mostly complete mod for my slot machine, and i know it still works, and i want to implement an anti-stupid in terms of voltage. i want to be able to have a 100-240v variable input and have it reduce voltage to 120 for any voltage over the maximum rating. minimum voltage would be 95 v for passthrough, max voltage for passthrough would be 125v. im looking for reccomendations on how to reduce the other half, without feedback, and all that. i am a very avid modder, i only did it because a non grounded machine is dangerous!

These days a lot of electrical equipment is made to handle 100-240v incoming supply. Unfortunately these are always switching PSU with a DC output. Never seen any with a fixed AC output. Mind you. I haven't bee looking.

my machine accepts 100v to 125v in, and i want to make it be able to accept a wider input range sicne im adding a plug that can allow you to plug in 240volt uk plugs and stuff like that. thats why im looking to have an adjustable range, i will to do any work needed to develop this properly.

Quick add: the power supply unit also deals with all the other voltages the machine needs

Warning. Not all pachislo slot machines have a 100vac power input. A lot still run on 24vac input. trying to develop a one size fits all input may lead to confussion to those without technecial knowledge and may result in a fried machine. Believe me. Once you spend a few years here. there are no shortage of horror stories of people plugging a 24v machine into a mains outlet, just because it has the same style plug.

As this is for your own personal use. This shouldn't be a problem. Just something to bear in mind if you either get a new machine or develop and sell your product.

I understand this, but im trying to make a solution for my machine, to be safe and to have it work. i understand everything isn't always the same
for me, i want to have the solution without the hassle of needing to try and fix ****.
if i blow it up, who am i going to be mad at? Myself.

Well I did do a 16 hour day yesterday. so wasn't here.

I'm not really sure what you are asking help in.

You want to make a lead to go between the mains voltage power oulet to the PSU on the machine.
Ideally you want a voltage stabilzer with a 100vac output rated at between 5-8A depending on machine spec.

since the machine handles 120vac fine, I want to be able to pass 100-125vac directly to the machine and have voltages above to be stabilized/reduced to within the acceptable range of 100-125vac.using this, I want to then make the machine have a better tolerance of input range so I'm not always worried about dumbdapters.

Well, that's something you could search online for.

Latest Drop of info.jumped temporairly to show working. Better pics. has been led modified. i will probably change resistors in some leds to cause a more distinct effect.
