Video that shows working OEM machine.

    Zip File has Arduino Code

    UFO component labels.jpg

    Components:
    Light 1 through Light 12 (11 & 12 are additional)

    START Switch (Center)

    "NOT" START Switches:
    Center Switch
    Top Left Switch
    Bottom Left Switch
    Top Right Switch
    Bottom Right Switch
OEM 24V Solenoid controlled by new MOS FET

    Sequence:
    Start up light check
Before start, open and close UFO, light each LED

    Start:
    UFO Closed
Ball in any "NOT" START Switch
    Nothing happens

Ball in top center (START Switch) - FIRST PAYOUT
    UFO opens (solenoid powered)
Center bottom lights blink together @ 1/2 second (Light 7 & Light 8)
    Light 1 on

    Until UFO closes:
ANY Switch (START or NOT START) - SECOND PAYOUT
UFO remains open (solenoid powered via MOS FET)
Center bottom lights blink together @ 1/2 second (Light 7 & Light 8)
    Light 1 off
    Light 2 on
    ANY Switch - THIRD PAYOUT
    UFO remains open (solenoid powered)
Center bottom lights blink together @ 1/2 second (Light 7 & Light 8)
    Light 2 off
    Light 3 on
    ANY Switch - FOURTH PAYOUT
    UFO remains open (solenoid powered)
Center bottom lights blink together @ 1/2 second (Light 7 & Light 8)
    Light 3 off
    Light 4 on
    ANY Switch - FIFTH PAYOUT
    UFO remains open (solenoid powered)
    Light 4 on
Center bottom lights remain blink together faster @ 1/4 second (Light 7 & Light 8) alternating with Center top lights (Light 5 & Light 6)
Light 9 and Light 10 on
Light 11 and Light 12 on
    ANY Switch
    UFO closes (solenoid no power)
    All lights off

    Nov 2021 Notes:
LEDs 1 through 4 are white, 5 through 12 are green
LEDs 11 & 12 are for second UFO switch

    Cool project.

Isn't a mega a bit of an overkill. wouldn't a nano or uno be a lot smaller
Mind you with that many outputs. might make it easier than having to start stuffing shift registers in .

    That is a great point!

Had MEGAs available is real answer...

    Uses 15 pins.

Sketch uses 3118 bytes (1%) of program storage space. Maximum is 253952 bytes.
Global variables use 31 bytes (0%) of dynamic memory, leaving 8161 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 8192 bytes.

    Yep, overkill...
