Default First Machine - Nishijin Front Overflow 1970

    Hello everyone!
Attached are images of my pachinko machine I bought at a flea market. It was really, really dirty (like, really dirty), missing glass in the front door, and the back was all boarded up.

I got it mostly cleaned up - my next project is to gather the courage to take the machine apart to properly clean it. Replacing the missing glass with acrylic on the door was easy. I discovered one of the previous owners attached a 9v converter in place of a battery when I opened the back. I kept this electrical feature as it only needed to be cleaned up to work. I also rewired the lights to turn the "low balls" light into a power light (the light stays on all the time when the unit is plugged in).

The unit is playable except the jackpot has to be manually switched. I suspect the mechanism has to be taken apart and cleaned because it "works" but the winning ball just isn't switching the jackpot regulator. Doing more research before taking it apart, though.

    Thanks for letting me share!

Sorry some of the pics loaded sideways.

Thank you! I may have teken out some balls to take pictures. When we play, the second hopper is pretty full. We were thinking about getting more balls anyway because we have to refill it frequently if we are winning big. we will see if that helps. Thanks for your advice!

leave the middle back hopper tray alone.. always put all the balls you can in the top back hopper..

    Hi Bec!

My advice for you is not to take apart this machine because it's your first and it's actually kinda rare being a front feeder funnel style Nishijin. These machines are a little more rare than the standard Nishijin Model A machines. Those playfield pockets and center are nailed in. You may break them when attempting to pry them out. Find another machine, and tinker on it first before this one.
