Default What does THIS button do

It's in the back of my Sammy Rescue Dogs machine.

There is also this knob down below.

They are also attached to this unit, which is also where the power switch is, and where the transformer is wired.

Fiddling with them them produces no visible effect to my observation.

The upper button is to reset the game cell if needed and the lower one is for resetting the frame itself. Sometimes you need to hold them in for 5-10 seconds while powering up the machine.

Oops my bad one reset button and don't mess with the mystery knob.

hey while I'm here, the claw around the chance pocket on this thing is weird. Sometimes it pops open for 3-5 seconds and closes, and does this rhythmically. Other times it occasionally or sequentially appears to pop open for a split second and snap closed. How is it supposed to behave ordinarily? What do I do to trigger it? Is there maybe something wrong with it?

While playing. Sometimes it will carry on doing it for a bit after I've stopped launching balls, but it never does it when it's been sitting idle for a while.

Every machine is different, so there may be different reasons why it's opening, but usually the reason it opens just for a second seemingly at random would be due to the sub roulette!!

    Sub Roulette

Each time a ball goes through a pass through pocket (usually on the left and sometimes right side of the playfield), then one of the 4 leds will light (or a symbol on the screen will show)..those are stocked chances of getting the flippers around the main start pocket to open for less than a second, theoretically giving you a better chance to get a ball in the start pocket for a spin..there are usually also 2 symbols somewhere on the play field or on the screen that are usually an X and an O that will flash back and forth and then stop on one of them..if it stops on the right symbol then the flippers will open..if it stops on the other symbol then they won't open..Then if you have anymore stocked it will start again!!

On some pachinkos it will always stop on the winning symbol and on others it rarely does..like on Star Wars!!

It is often referred to as the 'sub roulette' on these forums!!

I hope I explained that ok...Its a feature on most modern pachinkos!!
If you have any stocked up they will keep opening even after you stop..

Well that just solved 3 mysteries at once, I had also wondered what the red/green LEDs on the lower left, and the four yellow LEDs on the lower right were.

How old is this thing by the way? I'd guess like 10-15 years old, something like that?

Thanks for the info, y'all. I tried emailing Sammy and they were very polite, but understandably cagey.

I'm still not sure if the claw thing is working though. It seems to only ever pop open for a split second, whereas in the past it's opened and closed rhythmically, allowing me to hit a lot more.

Tulips normally only open frequently like that during the rush mode; after the fever for a pre-determined number of spins.
