Here is the first bit of confusion that I cannot correct:

Here is a link to the 8mm shafted motor to buy from Amazon for the Side Loader Kit. Unfortunately the title of the item is incorrectly listed as having a 6mm shaft on Amazon However if you look further in the description it says 8mm shaft! Well turns out, when you order one you do receive an 8mm shaft on it... which is what we are after !

    Here is the link

I just had a chat with support at Amazon and this error may be corrected in a few days? Here is a response I got when asking about the error and she couldn't fix it right away. I'm guessing that they will contact the seller to verify everything.

"Thanks for waiting. In this case, we'll take necessary action to this matter and we'll ask our marketing team to check the description.
I'll make sure that this will be taken care of.
And thank you for bringing this to our attention."

Please let me know if you are having a hard time finding any of the materials to complete this kit, or even if you want me to make you
the side panels drilled and ready to go, I should be able to get those out in a small padded envelope for a reasonable price.

    Thanks and enjoy! Rockston

Finally got a chance to get this set up this weekend and it works great! The only thing I had a bit of trouble with were determining the exact depth of the gear mount, as the first time I set it up the gear just barely nicked the diverter and jammed so making sure its absolutely perfect is essential. Also I recommend adding in the side panels as a standard part of the kit would be nice, as I don't have the tools to do any kind of precision cuts. Right now I'm using cardboard sides until I build a bigger drain pit; I won't need them after the pit is done but I think those pieces might be good to add to make it "complete" as far as woodworking goes.

Hi Mooseman, Glad it's working good for you! When I test these at home, I position the Delrin part of the gear flush with the end of the shaft as per instructions. This makes the gear ride slightly more away than center in the opening from the motor. In other words the gear is biased towards the front opening. I am using the same motor for the tests. I am assuming that the motors we are getting all have an identical length shaft sticking out. I am going to include a drawing in the instructions that shows a cutaway of the gear position front to back ASAP. As far as the sides go, they won't fit into the small mailing USPS box, it's full. I am attempting to keep the price of this kit as low as possible perhaps, I am making a mistake concentrating on that.

I am going to offer an option with the sides as soon as I figure out the shipping and extra work.

Please let me know if there is any current interest in a plug and play version of this ready to run complete with all the tubing at a price point of $170 shipped Continental USA.

I also need some addition information from members about choosing the the ideal height of the hopper to fit into your newer machines. What is the max height that will fit just about everything?

I'd be more interested in something that's ready to go. Plug it in and you're all set. Better than having to get all the additional items myself and doing any work myself.

For mine, being flush with the top portion was just ever so slightly too high by like a quarter of a millimeter and after testing it nicked the diverter. But after I adjusted it closer to the body it worked perfectly and has cycled a few thousand balls without a problem. It wasn't a design flaw moreso just needed a minor adjustment after everything settled in. We also discussed this in email but I'll say it here as well that I am running it about 7ft up and it works fine without any problems for people who are wondering about building a setup from the ground to the ceiling. It does not struggle at all with the height which I was slightly worried about. I'm not completely done with that setup yet but once I am I will try running 100k balls through it to see if there are any problems that crop up.

I think that its probably best to offer both options, as there are definitely some people who are making custom builds that would not want everything pre-assembled but id say most people just want to slap it behind a machine without thinking twice.

Picked up a nice little 60 year old Unimat lathe for making sprocket hubs. And of course used a loader motor to power feed it!https://youtu.be/AllUrLL4aTg
