    Default Aristocrat Pachislo Volume

Hi all, not sure on the exact model but I bought this today and wondering if there’s any way to lower the volume at all? And if not what people have done to quieten it down a bit. I cut 2 circles out of an old towel and unscrewed one of the speakers, putting them in front of it but it made next to no difference

Some machines have 3 or more speakers. Putting a varible resistor inline will help to reduce the volume. Others have done like you, used socks or towels. There should be a volume switch in it with 3 positions. But they are all loud.

Thank you mate, it has 2 speakers and I did manage to find the switch you mentioned, it was on 2 of 3, it’s bearable on the lowest setting with my wadding of towels

I have a similar vintage Aristocrat (Kyojin No Hoshi) and I know what you mean about the volume. There's a 3-position volume switch on the sound board (inside of the door, at the top) that adjusts anywhere from 747 engine to Who concert loudness. Here are the options I found to make the volume appropriate for home use.

    - unplug one of the speakers from the sound board
    - cut a piece of a magnetic cover (google "magnetic cover register") and put it over the speaker holes on the front, at the coin tray. This was easy and worked pretty well for me, but I didn't like it because of the cosmetics.
    - install a ~50 ohm resister in-line with each speaker. This is what I ended up doing and it works great. It's more involved and involves cutting wires, soldering, etc. There are some sellers on eBay that sell this solution also.

    Hope this helps

Yea I have one Aristocrat model King Of Fire and it's loud no matter what. Just putting in the tokens is deafening. My Aruze and Eleco models at least have a switch to make it more tolerable for indoors. Aristocrat has a switch but there's really no difference. It's the only one I can't play until I get my volume adjuster delivered from eBay.

The is all. I’ve got the volume to a bare ale level now after cutting a disc from aluminium and using a lot of cotton wool got a few questions though, sometimes these blue lights will randomly turn on, does anyone know what it means? I also have this random cable inside, it’s connected to a circuit board but has no where to go, what could this be for?

Do they both come from the reel stop board? Could be a connector left behind that goes to a battle counter.

Thanks for the response, this is where it goes, with 2 other unoccupied sockets next to it. As @peteybob said, the board is connected to the reels vote a ribbon

I think the blue lights mean you are building up to get a pay out soon. I haven't played mine for a while but this was the first one I bought and is my favourite out of the three I have.
