    Default Power consumption inquiry

Is there anywhere to find statistics in terms of the power consumption of these machines to get a feel for the hourly cost of running them? Curious how much my electric bill would skyrocket if I were to leave these on for several hours per day 🤣

Very basic math and someone who knows more can probably correct me. Also there are a lot of assumptions on how much power its actually consuming vs what it might consume at max usage:

AKB machines are around 10amp (for easy math) draw machines at 24v. So you multiply 10 x 24 = 240 which is the power in watts required to run the machine. Measured in kilowatts hours thats .240 kwh. Multiply that by 11c which is the low end of cost of electricity in NC, and you get 2.64c an hour. With that solved you can put that in any length of time you want, but you are paying about 20$ per month PER MACHINE to keep them running 24/7. Now obviously, when they are just idling they are probably not actually going to be pulling maximum draw most likely, but that should give you a good idea of the cost of keeping them running. Personally its never worth it to waste money on keeping arcade equipment running unnecessarily, and all it does is put hours on components that are hard to replace.

Hell yeah thanks. I assumed it wouldnt be too bad. Now I wont feel as bad for cutting all the machines on when I only plan on playing one of them.

Of course with modern Pachinko Machine use at least a Surge protector power strip to prevent Brownouts and over voltage surge damaging your machines .

    Very good idea

I have a bunch of these and have them set up with smart plugs. Depending on who is over or if it only myself playing I simply tap the corresponding button in the app for which bank of machines I want on.
