    This does not seem right...

"If machine has to be replaced, buyer will pay all shipping charges"

Could end up being a very expensive machine if it developes any problems.

Thumbs up Re: 007 James Bond

pachitom : its pretty standard in this industry.

You are right that it would get very expensive to exchange or send it back for repairs because of the double charging of freight both ways it would cost a member here at least 140.00 more and more than likely you would not be able to replace it with another 007 Pachislo as they are indeed rare.

The thing to remember when we buy Pachislos/Pachinkos, we are buying a used product and it's a wonder that we even have a warranty at all.

In this case we know that Davis would take care of the buyer as fairly as possible so if a problem would develop it is more than likely he would send parts etc out first before telling the customer to send it back.

Another thing I like about his auctions is that he spells everything out clearly so you know what you are getting. The only thing is the statement that this came from a casino hehehe.....

Exactly, ive had a couple of machines go bad after I sold them. I send out parts to the buyer and then replaced them with my help. THis saves shipping both ways. Im not going to pay for someones shipping both ways when the machine goes bad. They know they are buying used off ebay, i cnat guarantee it will work forever! WEhat I can guarantee is the fact that the if something does go wrong i will do everything in my power to get it fixed withought having it have it shipped back to me!

A long time ago in a city not to far from where I live now, I used to work at a mail order computer supply company that sold furniture, every time a screw or bolt was missing the buyers would want to send it back because the company had a policy of you don't like it send it back and the company would pick up the bill. After I got there I just started sending out the parts that were missing and letting the customers call if they had a problem with the instructions. Saved the company tons of money on return shipping just not enough to let them stay in business.
Point is buyers are really intersted in spending your money, but when they have to put up their own they get a little more reasonable.

Davis, this machine looks pretty nice in the picture--I wish I would have bought it from you. I bought my 007 at Christmas and it looks so beat up, I was rather disappointed. I do like the 1,2,3 coin bet option and the sound effects and music since I'm a big Bond fan but the machine itself looks like to be 10 years old.

Hey Kate, yeah alot of the Bond machines are really in bad shape, I think the chrome is not very nice on them since it seems to corrode very easy! This one looks as nice as any of them I have seen though! Maybe you should buy this one and sell the other on ebay! lol

I am not sure why you say its standard in this industry. I called 6 of the venders that sell regularly on eBay and 4 will cover the cost of return shipping, if needed, after other means to repair fail during the warrenty period.
1 said its the buyer who pays return shipping and 1 I could not get a definate answer from.
I realize most sellers will do everything possiable to take care of their customer without having to send a machine back, BUT, if it does need to go back what good is a warrenty if it is going to cost the buyer the price of the machine to have it repaired. I would even think its fair to pay shipping to get it back to the seller for repair and have the seller cover the cost of shipping it back to the buyer. I believe that is how most other companies handle warrenties.

    pachitom:

    Thanks for that information!

Please name the 4 dealers that will pay for shipping within their warranty periods.

I agree that if my SPIN LUCK would go down and the only way to get it repaired was to pay the shipping both ways...I would do it !...as I know it is not replaceable and I also know that the dealer I dealt with = is no longer in business. I actually would have to contact a new dealer that has parts and could fix it etc.

With the way these dealers are going out of business now and will be in the future, warranties on used Pachislos/Pachinkos are I believe to be looked at as a big MAYBE and not as a selling point.

Anyway, thanks for doing the roadwork for us on Ebay and checking with the dealers on this. Your information kinda makes dealers that will not cover shipping for warranty work look bad!
I know that I will keep in mind the names of the dealers you give us that told you they will pay shipping for repair work.

This would probably make an interesting survey as to how many people have actually shipped their pachislo or pachinko back to the dealer and paid their own shipping or had the dealer pay the shipping.

A question from the deep blue seaÂ…

What if you the seller pays shipping back to you, You get the machine and find out, that it was just a miss set plug that the buyer was fooling with ? Do you ask they pay or eat the lose ?

Because I have yet to find a condition that the machine needed returning.
I have had bad power supplies, reels, buttons, rom boards, token hoppers.
It is all made up of plug in componets.

You can dismantle a full machine with just a #2 screw driver.

Now if it is damaged in shipping, than the buyer should point that out right away, to shipper, seller, and his mother!

Thou I do know that Milt (Demos777) has done a few recalls on Pachislo and a prompt refund.
But I think that is a really far less than 1% of Pachislo sales

Our process is like everyone else's...we try to fix the machine over the phone and send the part we think needs to be repaired or replaced. But some customers don't want to bother, and in that case I eat the return shipping. As well as fixing and sending the machine back to them. So...considering we offer a limited lifetime warranty (act of g.d or neglect excluded), we repair or replace at my expense on the machines with that warranty. Now...that being said, I have some great tech's working for me who diagnose and fix 99% of the problems over the phone. We process very few machines that need to be returned..I've gotten scammed a couple of times over the years, but generally not....But in the spirit of this thread, we are one of the companies that will pay return shipping if the machine needs to be sent back.

    Hey Milt,

Do you know that Virginia tax and labour laws are more condusive for business. Think about all the money you will save if you move your business here.

If Milt moved his business to Va, what would i do? I don't want to have to have machines shipped and risk the damages. I think if milt moves his business to Va i will be forced to relocate

That's a bit drastic Rich. You would be just like most of us then and have to risk it. The advantage of it as was brought up in this thread, is with Milt and a few others, theres really no risk at all. They back them up with great customer support.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.
