Default Chance button for a lumina frame

I am still working through my lumina frame issues. I managed to get the frame contact switches working, somewhere there must have been a loose connection. Now that tis working I am still having issues with the chance button. It lights when it should but pressing it does nothing. I have replaced the opto switch but that hasn't fixed it.

If anyone has a parts frame and are willing to sell a button please let me know! Even jus the board on the bottom of the button would be all I need.

When you first turn the machine on. Try pressing the chance button. It should run a test through all the frame lights.
I have an old densha de go 2. desktop that I stripped for spares. I'm not sure if its a button on it. I'll check when I get home from my holidays and recover from alcohol poisoning.

It does nothing when I do that, as well on Neo Powerful Fever it won't change the character or game mode so I'm sure the button is dead

There’s a nice red Casino Bisty on eBay; one of the better games for a Lumina I must say! Featuring Naoko Iijima

That actually was my machine. I can tell from the cabinet it is in. I reached out to him to see if he would ship it but he doesn't return messages. I would love to have it back. I sold this machine, a stadium soccer and a Star Wars all in lumina frames.

Haha, it’s a small world, especially the pachinko world! I like the Casino one as much as Star Wars; which gets repetitive; not quite as good as Julie though.

I checked and it didn't come with a spare button. Might.be worth taking yours out and inspecting it an dsee if you can change the switch part.

I already replaced the opti switch. It didn't fix the problem. I wish there was a switch test mode like video games have. i don't know the pinout of the switch board in there either

Check the PSU and make sure all 10 fuse indicator leds are on. Then after that. Check the three pink connectors that connect the frame to the cel.
Then Its a case of following the wiring back from the button through the connection boards back to the main board.

All fuses are good, All connections are good. This doesn't work on any cell I put in. The button isn't a simple push button. It is a 6 (I think) pin connector coming off a small pcb under the button. It is an opto interrupter switch and a huge p.i.t.a to access. I don't want to just go shorting out those connections as there is definitely power there.

6 sounds about right. 2 for the button light. 2 for the IR sender and 2 for the IR receiver.
If you have a digital camera (not an apple product) trying looking at the sensor head on when its powered. I know easier said than done. But some camera will show IR light on the screen. Its over 15 years old, Its possible the sensor has failed and the one you replaced with is not compatible. Failing that. It s acase of tracing the wiring back from teh switch looking for any damaged or pinched cables etc. If the power is off. you can't do any damage.

The cable harness going to the shooter tray can get pinched in the hinge area when the shooter tray is closed back up. I've had quite a few support cases for the card reader emulator dongle where the buttons or display are not working properly and it gets traced back to a damaged wire in this area.

Got it sorted. odd issue. It seems the opto switch doesn't like the white plunger from the switch. I painted the plunger black and now it interrupts fine. My Lumina is now fully working again! Thanks all for the suggestions! Super helpful group.
