Default First Machine - Fix or start over

Hello! I recently picked up my first machine on a bit of an impulse purchase. I knew nothing about Pachinko before getting this. I have enjoyed playing with the machine and figuring out how it works but realized that there is an important piece missing. The machine is a 1960s Daiwa single shot. Everything generally works but the mechanism to hold the jackpot balls in place is missing. I finally found what it should look like from a video that @Baseballguy247 posted. The piece I am missing is this white piece and cover (whatever might be under it if anything?) in this picture

So the question is, is that something I might be able to find somewhere or should I give up on this machine and try to find something else? Is this common from something other than the Daiwa machines?

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Tim
