    Default Madoka Magica Volume control

Hey folks, just took delivery of a new toy and it appears to be a bit on the quiet side. I've increased the ingame volume to max but still struggle to hear anything above the thunderous cavalcade of balls.

I've spent the better part of an hour looking and prodding but to no avail, can anyone point out something obvious that I've missed?

    Thanks in advance.

    I so want this machine!

A few of my newer machines use the four point pad on the front using the right/left pad to adjust volume. Is that where you adjusted yours? Mine only works when game play has been idle and no other events happening for 20-30 seconds. This will reset after the machine is idle again after several minutes.

Yeah, my "Revenge of Vader" machine has that front ball control for volume and other stuff . I still don't like the two clicking diverters .

Yup can adjust the volume via the front pads but even at 10 max it's very low, I'm guessing it's been modified since it's been in a parlour, just hoping there is a knob or a pot somewhere on the back that can be adjusted.

Have to say that so far it's a beautiful machine to play, just want to have it set up properly before I start spending any real time on it

On my AKB48 similar frame minus evil cat thing.
Under the plastic cover over the top boards there is a 3 position switch that does volume with left being quietest.

I think. Certainly makes mine quieter.

Looks like you have this volume control at high. (lower right of picture)

Have you opened the front to see if anything is altered at each upper speaker? Do you hear sound from each speaker, upper and lower? Other than those items, I'd be at a loss for now. The back of this frame is very much like three of mine.

Well. On mine. The middle and the right seems to be the same volume. But I need to take a closer look at it. As I can see モード moulded on the cover (mode) can't work out the first part yet as got to cook dinner.

So checked the switch, seems to be at max, can confirm that it gets quieter if you move it to the left. Only seem to be getting sound from the lower speakers atm, nothing from the top two so that might have something to do with it.

Well. I know that I can hear the start up alarms from inside the house and the machine is in the games room in the garden. So by default they are really loud. I guess your getting a start up alarm?

Yup it's noisy but nowhere near deafening, it feels as if it's at maybe one third volume compared to the CR Haruhi Fever I have

Are you getting the same low sound with the start up alarm compared to when getting a ball in the start pocket?

Can you post a picture of the top inside portion of the front door showing the speakers and wiring across the top.

Yes start up sound is louder than the game sound but not considerably so, I wouldn't be able to hear it in the garden but would in the next room.

You could check for a loose connection by unplugging and re-seating wire sets to the speakers. In the door they are as follows for mine.

Wire sets into the door for the lower speakers and for the set that travels to the upper speakers.

    desktop4.jpg

Next is a four wire set for the upper speaker wiring coming up from below into the circuit board. the other is a two wire set from the circuit board out to the speaker on the left. There is another on the far side (black plug?) leading to the speaker on the right side.

Does the start up alarm come out of all the speakers or just the lower ones??

On AKB48, the start up alarm is all speakers. Although I'm sure there are some hidden menus you get to by holding one of the buttons on the back during start up. But I think it's just date/time stuff.

Thanks for the advice folks and apologies for the late reply, been a crazy few days.

So after checking sound is coming out of all speakers although the top ones are very quiet. the switch at the rear for volume makes no difference when moves from right to left although one setting turns off the sounds completely.

made a video of the startup and feature so you can gauge it yourselves, doesn't sound as soft in the video but you can't hear it over the balls when playing.

I wish mine was like that.

It's also worth checking the wiring for any mods. Like inline resistors

It's got a modified dongle, could that affect the volume in some way?
