Ball shooter stopped working

The only 2 ways to tell if it needs a dongle or not. is either plug one in, or find the modification done to the circuit board. this would have required the board taken out of its security case and blobbed.

As mentioned above. try touching one of the grounding points on the back whilst turning the shooter. Also check that the stop button on the shooter is functioning. Normally on Sankyo they pop out when you turn the handle slighlty

I tried touching several grounding locations with no success. Also, the button does pop out when turning the handle. I now think it’s a electronic or mechanical issue that an experienced person needs to track down and fix. I just have to find that person somewhere. Again, I really appreciate all the ideas and suggestions.

Well hopefully some one like peteybob or Mandoman might have a standard dongle that you might be able to test with. Then you can rule that one out. Also don't forget to check and test any fuses that might be on the machine especially around the power supply.

Let's rule out the Simple things that would cause your Pachinko Machine Shooter from working i.e. The Dongle . It worked for so many years in your care so during : Storage , Moving to your Vehicle, Unloading it at your destination that little item (Dongle) "Jumped Ship" so let's try the Dongle .

I’ve been in touch with Peteybob and tried the dongle he sent me. No luck - it still won’t shoot. I think it’s a problem with either the finger sensor or the ball shooter mechanism. I contacted two people in the Denver area who had advertised Pachinko repairs, but both are out of business. Does anyone know of anyone who repairs these machines in my area? Thanks!

Hmmm. That's all the simple stuff taken care of. Later model Sankyos had multiple fuses in the PSU all doing different voltages and ratings for different functions. Not sure about this model. I'm just going thorough the little.things that you can check without probing too deep. Also check, unplug and reseat the cables to the shooter motor module and the motor its self. Then follow the cables back.

Also actually hold the motor and feel if its turning as the gearbox/cam assembly might be damaged. So the motor turns but isn't shooting balls.

Also remove the cover when the dongle plugs in. There is normally a 1A fuse nearby. That's worth checking too.

The ball Shooter Knob assembly take Lots of photos as you dissasemble it . The photos will help in putting back together and yes the wire that connects the metal ring on the shooter knob could be disconnected .
