    Default Struggling with Lights

I have made great strides, and managed to more or less completely dismantle (and stunningly, managed to “remantle”) the back of my Nishijin Model B, and the intermittent jackpot payouts are now dependable jackpot payouts. I haven’t done much more than a surface clean to the play area, but I’ll eventually pull it all apart, tumble the nails, and replace the artwork.

In the middle of my priority list was getting the lights operating. One of the leaf switches was broken, one was out of whack, and the whole wiring harness was a mess so I yanked it all out and only looked back at it after the mechanics were sorted.

I thought I could do well with a basic 9v battery and the original bulbs, but they are draining my batteries in a day or so. I bought some 9V E10 LEDs, thinking it would be the easiest way to get reliable lights, but those just plain don’t light up, even with a fresh 9v battery.

Where should I go from here? I was hoping to avoid an AC solution, but maybe that’s dumb.

sounds like you have a problem somewhere.. a 9 volt should last a good long time.. unless your wanting the bulbs on full time..

if you want the bulbs on full time be mindful of the heat an old school incandescent can generate

    pics please

if you start from scratch keep in mind a simple loop.. battery to a switch, switch to a bulb.. bulb back to the battery.. build it on the bench and then install..

Your polarity might be reversed. LEDs are polarity specific.

Thank you, that’s something I hadn’t even thought of.
