Default Battle counter Sankyo victory frame

The outputs on my LOTR victory frame are 12v outputs.
Fried one battle counter and the 12v fuse on the power board of the pachinko before I realised.
So, my battle counter only has the contact inputs, not the 12v ones.
I'm looking at building a pcb with mini 12v relais but I'm concerned the relais take too much amps and smoke the fuse again.
Anyone has an idea how to make this work?

Really. I didn't know they were voltage out. Best bet is check out the manual for victory frames on daverobs website. Might be helpful.

Anyhow. That aside. Your best bet to make any sort of interface board for sending signals are using opto couplers. Relays are great for using low current to switch high current. But to convert voltage into a signal a couplers is best. Like any led based circuit. You need a current limiting resistor in the voltage side and the counter connects straight to the switch side.

On Victory frames the battle counter terminals are on the cell, so they are not shown in the Victory frame manual.

I think the cell outputs are all voltage type, but I only have a few cells so can't be sure of the ones I haven't seen.

Drunkenclam's correct, the best thing to use is an opto-coupler. Use a resistor of between 680 ohm and 1k ohm in series with the LED side, and connect the transistor side to the battle counter contact inputs.

It might be an idea to temporarily wire a normal LED to the battle counter outputs on the pachinko for a visual indication to check that they still work. If they don't, then you might have blown the ULN2003/2803 on the cell board that is connected to the battle counter outputs.
