    Default Kyoraku gman restore project

This is my latest restore project. I've been working on it for a few days and disassembled the entire machine. In that time I have most of it cleaned up and most of the frame/door pieces put back together. All the rear plastics taken apart and cleaned.

There are 2 locks on the door, one which opens the door and another to open the glass door to the playfield. I have de-pinned both of them and operate the locks with a blank key.

The shooter motor and bracket got a new paint job and I made a new sticker for the motor.

I've decided to change the playfield and will most likely design something, other than a spaceship and the moon, something more relevant to the center feature.

Didn't do much today. Just whitened all the white plastic pieces, that had turned yellow.

Dabbed on some Salon Care 40 and put in a clear plastic bag and set in the sun for about 6-7 hours. This is the easiest way to turn yellowed plastic back to a brilliant white.

Make sure you wear rubber gloves when applying and removing from bag. It will bleach your skin out, (turn it white), also immediately.

The tulips got whitened with the Salon Care 40, then repainted.

Center feature got a paint touchup.

The attraction above the center feature was repainted and I made a new/different sticker for it.

    I decided on a playfield.

I used a shooting target and pasted on some bullet holes.

Took it to the local print shop, where they scanned it and printed a copy and laminated it. Total cost $15.

Well, I've decided I'm not a big fan of an electric shooter on a vintage machine.

So, I decided to put the cell in another Kyoraku frame, one with a manual shooter. It was easy to change, the cells are interchangeable between the two frames, just remove the 10 bolts.

The only thing is that the manual shooter frame, I have, I was using as a parts machine. So, I had to fit a Nishijin bottom tray to it, because I used the tray on another machine, but I think it looks alright.
I gave the frame a "face lift", by cleaning it up and repainting some parts. Also added a LED playfield light.

I can always change it back to the original/electric shooter frame if I want, but for now it is more enjoyable to play, at least I think it is.
