Default Restoring Vintage Mizuho - Dump Chute Issue

First of all, this forum has been extremely helpful in identifying and restoring my machine. Thank you very much!

I'm restoring a vintage "Matador" Mizuho Pachinko machine that I believe to be a "model B" type made in 1977-1978. It's been in my parents basement for 30+ years. Just needed a little cleaning and TLC, but there's a couple minor issues I haven't been able to fix. It's missing the track cover (planning on replacing it with a 3d print). But the main issue I'm stumped with is the dump chute.

It looks like the wiring/lights on the machine burnt up at some point and was removed, which caused some minor damage to the plastic parts around the track and jackpot housing. It makes we wonder if the upper chute was replaced with the wrong part, because when I dump the balls they fall out of the back of the chute all over the jackpot linkage. The back of the chute is open and there's no "funnel" to direct the balls into the chute. Any ideas what's wrong here and how I can fix this?

I'll try to post some pics. Thanks!

Are you referring to the double-stacked row of balls on the lower run? Once things get moving, that will drop balls all over the place for sure. There is a cover that is always missing that resolves that. You can make something out of cardboard or plexiglass that would keep those in place and single-file to the jackpot. Do a search for "track cover" and you'll find lots of solutions.

    Hope that helps!

Yes it does need a track cover, but that's not the issue I'm referring to. See picture below:

When I pull the dump lever (red arrow), the white arms drop and it releases the balls through the bottom of the rail into the "chute" (blue arrow) to the ball tray. This doesn't work as expected and the balls get caught up in the jackpot linkage because there is no back to the chute to hold the balls in. But it needs more than a backing because the rear channel balls need to be funneled into the chute channel. I think it's missing a part between the feeder rail (double channel) and the chute.

Ah! I see! Just checked my mizuho here, and there is definitely a separate, flat piece missing from yours that would make it a tube. Should be easy enough to make something from plastic or cardboard.

looks like your getting good info pachitalk is full of it

you can make the missing track cover.. they are easy to make..

as for the back side of the drop tube. that should be something you can fab up with not to much work.. keep in mind its not used much.. may not be worth the effort..

    and of course

Thanks for the pics and feedback! Looks like I'm missing a piece here. I think other models have that part integrated into the tube and not a separate piece. You're right it's not used much but I want it to be complete and fully operational... I like to dump the balls and clean them every once in a while

I should be able to fabricate a replacement on my 3D printer. Could I trouble you (or anyone) for a couple more pics of the top part where it curves to funnel the balls into the chute?

Mine is literally a flat piece of plastic that sandwiches between the chute and the screw bases. I would just lay the chute on a piece of material, trace it, cut it out, and drill the holes.

If you zoom in on the second photo, you can see the flat piece starts about 2mm down from the curved part of the chute.

1mm plexi would do the trick. 3D printing would be way overkill, but that's why we call it a hobby

So I designed and 3D printed a Mizuho track cover and dump chute back piece. See pics for what I came up with. I'll post the diagrams here: https://www.pachitalk.com/forums/sho...Pachinko-Parts. Now I'm working on the lights

    Thanks for the help!

Ledwards, that track cover is one of the parts I am looking for! Are you willing to share a 3D file?
