You have a really good jam up of balls in the back of the machine and the ball run just above the main jackpot device is Missing the top cover to keep the balls from doubling up .

The playfield is interesting : car background with a beaver and below the beaver a windmill.

Yeah, I saw that a lot in the 70's with people just kept firing balls even though the top hopper was empty.

That's why the stop gate at the front feed hopper should not be put out of commission by bending the wire to the stop flag/ball stop gate up .

1977 machine. Worth $40 all day long, and $70 is still decent if it comes with 500 or more balls. They honestly are worth more than the machines these days.

Not uncommon, rare, or otherwise valuable, but if it makes you happy, it's a good find. They are super easy to work on and maintain, and lots of good info at your fingertips with a quick search on here.

    Enjoy!

"吾妻" (Azuma) is the model name of the chassis (waku, 枠).

    GetAttachmentThumbnail 11.59.23.jpg

The sticker is put on the machine as proof that the manufacturer has paid the necessary fees to use technology patented by other companies.

The expiration date at the bottom of the patent license certificate is December 1977.

Valid until the end of December 1977. Reuse invalid.
    有効期間 昭和52年12月 末日迄 再使用無効

My experience with machines from that time is that they were made two years before the deadline for removal from parlors.
That would make it a 1975 machine.

It was made by Sankyo (三共).

Sankyo's list of machines from 1975:
    https://www.sankyo-fever.jp/history/...?tag=1966#1975

The machine names are based on the model name (in this case "Azuma") and the center feature.

A VintagePachinko photo of a machine with the same center:
    https://www.flickr.com/photos/vintag...o/16780497218/

The center has a theme based on the Japanese folktale "Bunbuku Chagama".
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunbuku_Chagama

So the name Sankyo gives for the machine is "Azuma model: Bunbuku".

    Azuma-gō: Bunbuku (吾妻号 ブンブク)

A ball that goes in a hole by the tanuki at the top makes the upper half of the entertainer below it rotate, changing it from man to woman or from woman to man, and opens a tulip below the character.

The banners on both sides of the entertainer read "Ōiri" (大入) which means the theater has a full-house audience.
They are also a symbol of prosperity.
