Default Fifth machine, Type A Thunderbird

I've been curious about this model for some time so when I found a reasonably priced one (under $80) I bought it. A few sticky parts but it works pretty decently out of the packing box. Very satisfying to have one to look at and play in person!

Personally, I find the main motif visually similar to Canadian artist Norval Morriseau's look with its colored lozenges and black outline, and the center wheel looks derivative of a Thunderbird medallion in the style of the Indigenous people of southern Ontario.

Probably give a good cleaning and doubt I'll redesign or overhaul much of this machine - the rear mechanics are too intimidating. I really like the ball dispenser sound of this one.

And it apparently plays for peanuts!

The rear mechanics of a "Model A" are a bit intimidating! However...they DO make the BEST home machines!
Because they "recycle" the losing balls back into the jackpot hopper...they run with less balls, and you have to "refill" WAY less often!
