Default Sankyo Fever No Wires Cut Volume Control Mod

“All he had to do is cut TWO wires!” Yeah, yeah, I know, I know... but I really wanted to cut NO wires and reduce the risk of me screwing up my machine. And for an extra $3.49 with parts to spare I did it! This may not be the best or easiest way to install a volume mod, but it worked for me. Follow at your own risk!

    Parts purchased from eBay

I didn't need this many connectors, but this was the cheapest option I found at the time at $3.49 with free shipping.

It seemed pointless to have independent volume controls for each speaker so this made the most sense to me.

    Install

    1) Mount the volume controller on back of machine with the supplied double sided tape and feed the wires through the hole by the hinge, making sure that they won't get pinched by the hinge.

    2) Carefully unplug the connectors from boards E08KB and E08JB. I say carefully because two of the clips the connectors went into seemed very wobbly, as if they might break off the board. I used a little screwdriver to assist.

    3) Attach a female connector to each male connector first. Then connect the purchased connectors to the existing connectors.

    4) Connect the black connector wires together, trimming first if desired. Use supplied caps or electrical tape to cover connections.

    5) Connect the red wires to the volume controller wires. Use supplied caps or electrical tape to cover connections.

    6) Test and tuck everything away if working.

    7) Enjoy! Your machine will no longer cause hearing loss!
