Default Help Identify my Pachinko Machine

    Howdy.
My name is Barnaby and I'm new around here.
Many decades ago my Grandparents returned from a trip to what they called "The Orient" back then, and brought back a pachinko machine. It's been at our family home ever since, but it's been jammed up and not working for years. During the Covid Lockdown, I got a bug in my bonnet to get the thing back up and running, and "restored" to the best of my own abilities, whatever they prove to be. I've been watching Dan Welch's videos for general inspiration. But I live in Dallas, and the machine is in Minnesota, so it will probably be mid to late summer by the time I feel like it's safe enough to pile my kids in the family truckster and get up there. In the meantime I'm trying to figure out whatever I can about this machine, so I can make the best use of my time once I get there. It seems like the first step is identifying the model, which I haven't yet been able to do. I know it was manufactured by Sanyo, as that is the only English word I can find on the thing, and it's plastered all over it every couple of inches, it seems. I was told to look for some licensing stickers on the back to get get an idea about manufacture date, but the back is bare of any markings.

If anyone can help me identify a specific model, or has any other tips to get me off on the right foot, I would appreciate it. I would like to do a nice job so it's working for the following generation, but I'm not looking to start a business or anything. I'm attaching some photos my brother took for me.

Thanks for any help and direction.

PS: Dan already told me the lower track cover is missing - this seems like a reason I need to identify a specific model to get on that fits. And it makes me feel like there may be other missing or damaged parts once I get a real good look at the thing!

your have a Sanyo bussan.. it is considered a model "B" machine.

to be honest the best way to lear is to do.. watch a few Vids.. I like this one..

    https://www.pachitalk.com/forums/sho...-Model-B-Video

and the more you know about Pachinko the easier it will be.. as they all work the same.. (but different)

so this may help as well

    ya i know shameless plug

your machine has one serious ball jam.. .. my best advice is take your time and dont force it.. if you have to bend something, find a different way.. if you have to leverage something find a different way..

finding parts will be Damn hard.. dont break it..

you need to remove every ball.. all of them.. with exceptin of the two balls in the jackpot rocker. you can't see those two but you can hear them rolling back an forth..

    take your time

    take lots of pics..

ask hear of you have questions

    and of course

Lower track covers are almost always missing. I make new ones out of plexiglass, usually the old "glass" from machines. Cut a strip the right width with an x-acto knife, heat it over your stove element (I use a soldering iron), bend it to shape, then trim it for length.

    Free and easy!

That is one mighty ball jam. I'm sure some folks here run machines with fewer than what is stuck in there! I'd love to find a machine with that many at a garage sale someday

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing, and have fun!

    /Kris

In the front of your machine that little circle window to the right of the ball tray is Missing.

Slow and steady on the rebuild/restore and ...Welcome to the Addiction ! (they will start to multiply).

It might be, as I haven't laid eyes on the machine in over a year, but maybe it's the lighting?IMG_4326 copy.jpg

Thanks everyone for the help and the warm welcomes. I will probably be pretty quiet around here until I can make the trip to Minnesota and get my hands on the machine, pardon me, the SANYO BUSSAN MODEL B. But once I get up to my elbows, I may be posting here every five minutes!
    Thanks again.
