    Default Photo sensor switch

Hi, wondering if anyone can tell me how to test a photo sensor switch.

    Thanks!

Would this be for a sensor in the coin mechanism or a reel? Depending on your machine many have a main board with a light to come on when each sensor, button, etc... is engaged.

It’s for the coin hopper, no lights unfortunately.

If there is no indication led on the main board. You can see if the IR led in the sensor is working by pointing a digital camera at it and see if there is a glow coming from it. NOTE this doesn't work for all digital camera (I'm looking at you Apple) of course this will only prove the emitter is working and not the receiver. After this you either need to use a volt meter to measure the sensor output or just buy a new sensor. Either which you will need to know the sensor model or data sheet.

I have 3 sensors that are stuck on while others are off unless a button is pushed. The 3 that are stuck on go off when a button is pushed. Is this a bad sensor, or just reversed for the coin mechanism and credit 1&2 buttons? It's a Macy Tarot Master machine.

Sounds normal to me. Some sensors/buttons are normally open, some are normally closed.
The important face is you are getting a change in state when you push/hold the button or lever.
