Early modern hanemono nishijin smoke from board after transformer

pachiback.jpgpachihanemono.jpgGot a nishijin hanemono probably mid 80's? It Has the dark green plastics on back like model c. The machine had no transformer just original japanese plug. I hooked up a working 110 to 24v transformer from another pachinko. I used an inline 5amp fuse on the 24v output to machine. It powered up for a few seconds then smoked out a small ic, 1 cap and couple of resistors. Did I do something wrong? Just a parts machine now? I dont want to try to source parts just for it to happen again.

Hmmm. It's possible someone before you thought it was a mains voltage machine due to the plug and already plugged it into the mains.

There is normally a zenor diode or such like to protect the machine.
Check where the power goes in to see any other blown components. Ir could.just be bad luck. After all the circuit board is 25+ years old.
