    Unhappy Broken Key

Help please guys. Pachislo Disaster. I moved home and left the key in my Bluebirds machine. It fully broke in two. I managed to unlock the machine door by putting my hand up through the coin overflow hole at the bottom, and then get the body of the key out with tweezers Weird key! It is a flat key with 7 different size dimples machined on each side the same place, so it can be used either way up. Does anyone know where replacements can be found. I have never seen a key like it. Tip: Dont wait for your precious single key to break, before trying to find a replacement.

I'm about to have some stuff shipped from Japan. So if we can identify the key. Might be able to get one and stick it in the box.

    See what you can find.

Hi all super big thank you for your replies, unfortunately, I just took the long barrel lock out of my Thunderbird machine and there are no numbers or identifying marks on that either. All I have is this key. I took a better photo to show the dimples. The whole key is 42mm long, but the actual bar with the dimples on it is 20mm x 7mm. The dimples are placed in exactly the same formation on the other side. I did try a local locksmith store today in London and he told me they dont do this sort of key, they cannot even provide a blank in this size to DIY on.
Still Hoping someone does cut them somewhere though.

Thank you for your replies and comments. . Unfortunately all I have is the key. I took the long barrel lock out and it does not have a number or identifier either. A local locksmith shop guy told me today that they and others would not have that size key or the machinery to make the indents. I have a better photo to see all indents now, the key is 42mm long complete and the bar with the indents on is 20mm x 7mm. I was hoping to even get a blank key today and have a go at DIY with a drill, but they dont even supply them either. Just to say that the indents are on both sides of the key in exactly the same format and size.

Thanks Drunkenclam, fantastic link. I wish I could understand it all. However, I did see a key on page 13, (second from the last) on that page marked as No 1729. This key's dimples do look exactly the same as mine, just not sure if the size of the key is the same. What do you think? Are you able to see a how much the cost is?

If you can post a link. That would be handy.
I can't find a picture of a machine called bluebirds.

Is it the same key as Thunderbirds?

Hi Drunkenclam, I think this is the same as my key. Key No 1729. I am not certain how to read the site though. How much is this one do you know?

Sorry guy's I dont have the tools or knowledge to braze or metal. It is like a dark art to me. We are still in a strict lockdown in UK right now but as soon as I can I will reach out to some metal workers who can do that.

Sounds great, the US seller on Ebay is more like £30 - £40 with shipping. Can you help me to order, or add it to yours, I can PayPal you £20 first or what ever you need to secure it.

Yes please I thought I will need the whole thing without having a key number. The seller in the US sent me a message to say he does not have a key but can sell me a full long barrel lock with one key for £44 with shipping. I have dropped a cord through the coin overflow hole and while I cannot use the soft reset feature I can still use the machine. So no rush. I just think this is a great machine with all the Thunderbirds videos and sounds. I dot suppose it is a big hit in the US.

Thanks again for your help. let me know how to pay.
