Default Center payout lever not resetting

this is something maybe you pachi veterans can help me with.
for some reason the white center payout ball lever stopped closing after the payout. the metal rod leaves clearance for it to close but it isn't and so the next payout doesnt load up. nothing is sticky. i've been doing manual resets but it isn't bouncing back, as it were. maybe i tightened something a little too much, or...?

With no balls in the input chutes, lift the release lever and see if the stopper swings freely from the open state to the closed state. In the picture the stopper--the part with the metal crescent that stops the balls from paying out--appears to be held up by the release lever. Either the release lever is resetting too fast, or the stopper is resetting too slowly. I wouldn't think the release lever is too fast, but who knows?

Best guess I can make based on the picture.

im not sure what is hanging up based in your parts description.

the flat metal tab can be bent up or down a bit to help.. i have also had to polish the friction point of the rocker point.. that being the friction point between the top of the piece that that holds the balls in the jackpot and the bottom of the arm that releases the jackpot.. that friction point is probably 1/2 and inch or more.. make sure you use a super fine file as you are more polishing that point.. keep in mind the angles these parts have when filing..

    hope that makes sense..

find a way to get the jackpot arm to lift further..

sand the point where they slide
    or
bend the metal tab at the top a fraction of an inch

I think your metal tab may be in backwards.

Metal tab does appear to be reversible, but I didn't take mine apart. At first I thought it might be upside down, but after reviewing the video again, I think it is in right side up. Can't definitively say it is or isn't backwards.

To my eye it definitely appears that the lever does not lift high enough to allow the release mechanism to operate properly. Take the balls out of the equation, lift the jackpot lever, and see if the release mechanism swings freely from open to closed. Also check for obstructions on the jackpot lever making it stop rising prematurely.
