Divers machine in reset gives me an E code and sounds loud New and need advice

When I tried to reset the odds with the reset key, I have been getting an ' E ' code instead of 1 to 6. The machines blares loud non-stop until I am finally get it reset properly. Takes a few tries to get the odds reset. I am doing the procedure as explained to me.

Anyone know what this ' E ' code is?

Could the reset switch be faulty or it is finicky and just needs to find its "sweet spot" ?

Is their a volume pot or control to turn it down on the Divers machine?

I read off this forum about the reset which I had the power on when I turned the key to the right, then did power off and did power on, tried to get button to go through the odds and it did not work. I read the correct way to do that by having the power off, then turning reset key to the right, then turn power back on with the help on this forum.

Also, for volume control, does it matter which volume pot to buy and install? I found these 3 on the modification area here as suggestions:

There is a 6 pack with a star pattern knob for $15.00 from ebay
OR
500 ohm 1/2 watt 1 inch shaft potientometer for $1.90 each from parts express
OR
L-pad speaker 15 watt 8 ohm adjustable switch for $ 11.48 each from parts express

I understand each speaker gets a volume control switch to turn it down!!

used them meany times on pachinko and pachislo both. you have to solder them in but they are small and easy to use..

I saw those small volume controls on another thread here. I did a volume control switch from parts express for $11.48 each but they claim the shipping is the same.
So... I have a Pachislo Divers slot machine with one rectangular speaker which is 8 ohm, 10 watt maximum. Not sure what amplifier is driving it. The speaker is attached to a LMH board with 2 wires plugged into that. In Low, it is loud. Would I take off this board and splice one side of the speaker to the volume pot you described Or leave the board and see what it does with the volume pot?

Ordered from parts express # 260-248 15 watt mono L-pad 8 ohm switch. Installed it and left the L-M-H board on high and adjusted the L-pad switch to slightly high. Volume is perfect and not too loud. If I put the L-M-H switch on low, the volume is almost none.
