Default New to Pachinko Nishijin Model B Restoration

    Hello!

I've recently acquired a 1975(?) Nishjin Model B. It's a bit musty but it's been unused and hung on a garage wall for about 10 years according to the seller.

The mechanics appear to be all functioning, I'd like to disassemble the unit and clean and oil all the moving parts.

If a teardown video exists I've yet to find it and would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

My specific question is regarding the shooter arm mechanicism. There is a little rod that appears to be bent or has become weak and no longer stays on the correct side of the plastic arm.
Each time the shooter arm moves the rod slips off of the plastic arm.
I'm not sure how I should fix this. Should I carefully bend the rod with a pair of pliers or should I tie the rod to the plastic arm with wire? Any advice would be helpful.

I'll include a few pictures, one picture I am pointing to the rod mentioned in the question above.
Please excuse the dirt and grime I've just brought it home and haven't even begun to clean the unit.

Thank you in advance and I'm looking forward to your responses!

hello and welcome to what may turn out to be a full-time addiction. take it from me.
there are lots of repair videos but arguably what works for me is to start removing the back plastic of the machine, cleaning and vacuuming as i go. and also taking lots of pictures. try to use hand tools since a lot of the time the screws have rust and can break or strip easily. i also will outline a part in pencil to leave a "footprint" on the wooden board so i can reattach (you'll be removing a lot of staples and will probably want to screw it back in)

i checked my model B and it looks the rod you're pointing to is the flush for the ball-drop and has no connection to the plastic piece or shooter arm mechanism; it's just close by. should not be in contact with anything.

Hello and welcome. That wire is the overflow shutoff. Excessive winning balls will back up from the lower tray pushing that wire to disable the ball loader.
