Default Model A Sophia Ball Lever Adjustment

Inherited my Great Uncle's Nishijin Model A Sophia which he used to have in his bar. It's in rough shape (but so am I). Having issue with the ball strike on the ball shooting lever being off center and striking the track instead of the ball direct, in the cut out space, as designed. How can I adjust the position 1/8 to 3/16" over so the strike spring will properly engage the center of the ball in the track cut out? I'm concerned too much force applied to the lever will damage it or other componets.
I'm sure this will be the first of dozens of questions over the restoration of this sentimental classic.

Thanks for any advice, techniques or direction.

    Pics please.

That can happen if your playfield board is warped or if it’s not nailed/screwed tight and flush with the outer door/frame. Has it been water damaged?

Had that issue with a rough shape Model C I restored upon attempting to reassemble; ended up having to wood glue the delaminated dried up plywood spacer wood between the playfield board and the frame door because it fell to pieces upon disassembly; and then took several 1 1/2” screws to really tighten it down solid and perfectly center the shooter.

I’d tear it down and do full restoration!

Yep, taken from a warm dry house and left under a poach awning until i rescued it. A complete tear down and restoration is in the future, i was hoping to cleanup and test function in the short term.

I guess the lower right corner of the playfield board has turned inward, as looking at the face of the strike spring, it has moved out of the center of the track towards the 1 o'clock position.

Do you think besides complete R&R is there anything to temp adjust that assembly that won't cause more damage to the playfield?

One more thing....Can the Model A electronics handle the standard 12vDC transformer?

    Thanks!

You’re better off to do it once and do it right since you have to take it apart anyway! My two cents

Yep, under further examination of the wood, is all needs to go. Most of the ply has de-laminated and will have to be replaced.

It will be a year or so before I'm set up to do a complete tear down and restoration.

At this point, Wait or Scrap it?

Likely have to scrap it, unless you want to drill hundreds of nail holes perfectly so they line up on the new plywood playfield. Seems like tedious work. Parts sold on eBay would probably be worth more than the price of a complete and working machine.
