Super Cop Error Code

Hello everyone,
I'm restoring at Kitac SUPER COP machine, and I have everything working except for a hopper payout. After it records 50 credits and upon the next spin when it should payout, the error code of "AO" appears. The same code appears if no hopper is plugged in. I have cleaned the hopper, plugged and re plugged all the cables several times across the entire machine, and have inspected all the cables and they all appear to be in excellent shape (no mice). The hopper can be manually turned and it will dispense tokens. I've included pictures for you to take a look and see if anything looks out of place.

Any Ideas?

The hopper is a CH-500 by Asahi-Seiko. I would be willing to buy a working hopper if anyone has a spare (see photos for plug type).

It was a Sankyo but I had a similar problem. First I checked the motor was ok by removing the hopper and applying a 12vdc supply to the motor. To confirm the motor was done. It was. For me I had to replace the PSU that the motor plugs into. This was after I confirmed the processor was sending a signal to the PSU to turn the motor. Done by just checking the signals in the ribbon cable whilst trying to payout.

OK did step one today. Put 12 volts to the motor and it turned but the hopper wheel did not. I had a untested hopper from a different Kitac machine with the same motor but a different plug, tested it the same way and that motor turned and the hopper wheel turned. Looks like a big job but i will put that working motor in the Super Cop. I did note when the original hopper was plugged in and i blocked the sensor it set the (AO) error code off. Not sure what that means? I will update when i get the motor changed. I still would love to find a original Super Cop hopper. Thanks for your help. Oh by the way the main board in this machine does not have any led lights on it. I've had a few machines over the years but have never seen one with no leds. I know the machine was made in 1990 but not sure how many or how long they were made. May be a few days before i can get the motor changed out but i will post the results.

Blocking the sensor will trigger an error. The sesnor should only be blocked when a token is exiting the hopper. If always blocked or blocked when its not meant to be.. It assumes a jam or the sesnor is faulty.

So you think the gearbox is faulty?

Thanks for the info on the sensor. I believe it is. Iv'e never seen inside one so not real sure how it works. The hopper wheel does not even try to move. I hope i have time this weekend to take it apart. I'll post some pictures. Thanks again for the help.

With the unit switched off and hopper unplugged. Can you turn the plastic disc in the bottom by hand?

It will turn a little more than have a turn and then stop. It will turn back and allow you turn it again about a have turn and stop.

Turns out the gear box is not the problem. The coin blade that the coins travel on before they are ejected was out of adjustment causing the little studs that lift the coins up to hang up on the blade. I guess i'm done, can't think of anything else to do. It's tough without the leds that give real time information. I guess other things can be checked but i don't have the knowledge. I would still buy any Super Cop parts that would come my way but iv'e never seen another one. Drunkenclam, thank you so much for all your help.

doesn't need to be a super cop. just a machine in the same cabinet.
