Default Alarm on Nishijin will not turn off

    Hi.
I just got my first electronic machine.
When it is turned on, a loud alarm sound plays and does not stop. It sounds like a car alarm. A set of lights in the middle flash as well.
I can unplug the speaker, but the lights won’t stop flashing, and the rest of the electronic sounds and features don’t work.
I feel like it is an anti tampering alarm, but I can’t figure out how to reset it. There is a button on the side of the unit that displays the error code, but pushing it does not help. The display on back flashes 0, when I push the button it briefly flashes 8 then resumes blinking 0.
The ball hopper is full, this is not a low-ball alarm.

    Please help if you can!

    Thanks!!!

Missing a Dongle ? Get the daverob dongle then that three segment led and the two buttons above the shooter knob will come to life and work (I don't know if it will work on your older machine).

When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS

The machine shots and pays out still, though none of the other functions work due to the alarm. Do you think a dongle will cure the alarm problem?

There is a front door open sensor. I tested it as best I can, even tried to short it. Was hoping that it would solve the problem, but it didnt... Yes, balls are making their way to the jackpot motor through all the pathways. It shoots and pays out just fine. The hopper is full, so it isnt a low-ball sensor.

I'm located in norcal. Oakland actually. Know anyone who works on these up here?

No. If its shots fine now. A dongle will not fix the alarm. But might make it more enjoyable to play when its not beeping at you.

Check each pocket to confirm payout.
Are you getting the video reels working?
As Mopar said. Check conditon of any door contacts.
It might be bottom tray sensor faulty. thinking the tray is full. But that normaly disables any more pay outs.

    That is so cool!!!
No, the video screen does not work yet.
Not even sure to start with that. Maybe once the alarm stops the screen will work?

What does the blue and white cable do? Where does it go? Its unusual to have loose cables. Looks like 2 pins in the bottom right on the main board.

Fair enought. The blank screen is worrying. Can you check the output voltage fom the transformer. Becareful of the mains side of it. No shocks please.

If you could do a YouTube video of your machine and post it on this Thread so we can see what it is doing and not doing .

Have you "exercise" the connectors ? (Unplugged and then gently replug the connectors) it might work off some corrosion on the pins .

I did over 20 years as a Field Radio Repairman in The U.S. Army and the microphone connector pins had to be cleaned by using a eraser on the contacts . I can't tell you how many times I had to show the operators of the vehicles how to keep the radio equipment in proper operating condition.

I wish you success in getting your cool machine fully operational.

Default Alarm on Nishijin will not turn off

Like Clam said you can see the blue and white wire with a connector pulled off and that missing connector on the board with the 2 pins stuck out.

Yup. As I mentioned, that's the speaker wire I unplugged so I don't have to hear the screaming car alarm while I work on it.
If only it were as simple as an unplugged wire I could spot from 10 feet away.....

Definitely unplug/replug them all. I had weird issues during the fever of a 90’s hanemono machine that sat a long time that turned out to be a bad connection; a simple fix.
