Default Picking up 1950s Vintage Tonight

After work tonight, I’m picking up these oldies! They are brother/sister machines imported by a couple in 1957. Any help on Manufacturer and date would be helpful. I will post better pics when I have them in hand!!

I have lots more pictures here and and an amazing story to tell about these two machines. These will both be getting new playfields and be cleaned up, but they are in amazing condition for their age! I will post pics here tomorrow.

Those are sweet! Without really seeing them up close...I'm not so sure I would replace the cells. If damaged beyond repair, then yes! Since the wire "staples" that hold the "ring track" have to be cut, the reattachment method we use is not the same. Sure, it is on the back, and almost no one will notice. Still, it is a permanent modification to an antique. I know we make fun of the word "rare" on this site...but semi auto machines of this era are getting rare. A pair of identical twins of that era is truly rare.
I also don't like shining up the metal too much. Old metal should look old. Clean is one thing, shiny don't quite look right.
Just my two cents. Remember...they are only original once.

i agree with pachiwall and wouldn't replace the cels. prolly be hard to replicate that speckled appearance.
if these were 70's machines then big deal-they're everywhere but these old single shots are the best looking machines ever made and i'd be hesitant to change them.

Two playfields (exact replicas) have been ordered from Vintage Pachinko Restorations. The playfields look exactly the same as what was originally on them. Unfortunately, the existing playfields are cracked, and have already peeled off of the board. They are in very bad shape, otherwise I would have saved them.

In my experience, the wires that hold the ring track to the front cell just need to be pried out of the board. Are these older machines different?

No traditional wingnuts fastening the machine to the frame. Is the frame and machine front permanently fastened together? Why is there a spinner on the back?

I dont believe they are permanently fastened, no. Extra spinner. I dont see any reasons why I shouldn't be able to restore these just like a 70's machine. The main board might be a little harder to get to, but that should be it.

I'll definitely keep you guys in the loop. Mopar it occurred to me halfway through taking things off the backside today that I have a replica to look at while reassembling. Awesome stuff.

All nails and rails removed. Here is what the main board/playfield looks like. Interestingly enough, I'm beginning to think the sheet layer for the playfield never had any adhesive to stick to the board....20200827_093339.jpg

Yeah, with all the tacks surrounding the board it was just tacked on .
