Post Electrocoin Cherry Bar Pachislo Machine

Hello everyone, I am a naive newcomer to this so please bare with me!

I recently bought (from my best guess) a Pachislo slot machine from the early to mid 90's. I found it on facebook marketplace for a bargain price of £10. It is in working order, electronics wise, and it is a beauty to look at! However, there are a few problems, although it all works, it seems to be setup wrong, as its giving error messages, or at lest what I guess are error messages, and seems to be in some sort of setup mode rather than a "play" mode.
The problem is me not knowing what the holy hell I am doing, I was wondering if anyone knowable on this subject would be willing to lend out a hand!
The slot machine seems to have an outdated "coin selector" or at least thats what I think its called, as it only accepts old 10p pieces and not the new modern coin. I have seen on youtube that often times these "coin selectors" are able to be reprogrammed by running a number of coins through them though I have found no information on how to do this with my model.
Moreover if anyone knows how to get it out of "setup mode" and into "play mode" that would be of great help!

If I had to guess I would say this machine has been modded with a new coin reader to allow for money to be used instead of tokens I bought it from a bar, and it has a sticker on it that says "10p = 1 play, I think the coin selector is a cash flow brand though Im un sure of what the model is a CF 430 perhaps

    WELCOME!!!

Electrocoin did have modified pachislos in the UK Years ago..been a long time since someone has posted about one.. It looks like the whole coin thing is different than what would be in a normal pachislo..

Normally the setup/reset mode to play is done by a key switch on the power supply. On yours that's the black box next to the reels.

The silly thing is. Pachi tokens are almost the same size as the new 10p piece. Of course. We advise only using proper tokens.

Although most machines require 3 tokens for one spin of the reels. I guess yours is not a max bet version or something else has been modified.

Yes I think I have found that however it is different from where you suggested it would be! the black box next to the power supply I dont think is the power supply that Is located in the lower compartment and from what I can see there is no key, I have found a key switch in the top compartment however; you gain access to it by pulling the blue handle see in my original post.
The key switch also has some switches next to that I dont have any idea what they mean.

Also regarding the "black box" next to the reels, it appears to have 3 buttons on it, "8A 3A 5A" as well as a "SW On - Off switch, from what I can tell the on off switch does just that, though the SW part of the name does leave me slightly perplexed. but the 8A 3A 5A buttons leave me pretty much baffled. Located at the top of this black box there is an IN and OUT with some holes, if I had to guess then Id say thats where the money in, money out tally would go, however that has been moved on my machine

The odds switch is the key switch beneath the 2 slide switches. The button below is labelled reset.
8A 3A and 5A are the fuses and the switch below is labelled as Main switch.
I'd start with the doing a full reset using that key switch.

Oh just a thought. I don't see a standard hopper in there.

How would one go about doing a full reset? Also how would I set the odds using the key switch? The hopper is located in the bottom portion of the machine, the coin selector seems to just roll the coins into a hole and that drops down into the hopper. Moreover what are those fuse buttons used for, seems rather important knowing what sort of button to push so I dont blow the thing up!
Is there any way to find out what the 2 switches above the key switch do? Thanks for all the help! hopper.jpg

On the PC now. rather than phone

Ah ok. Now I understand a bit now. Its a non standard case. Also I have never seen a pachi with reel hold or nudge buttons
So the next bit is for standard pachis. I hope this works for yours. Of course. There is a chance. your main CPU has been changed for more of an english style play.

Two switches on the power supply:
    - One requires a soft reset at the end of a bonus.
    - The other pays out all tokens at the end of a bonus.

For these switches in most cases off is in the down or right position. The for off and on are:

    無 = off

    有 = on

Is there any other stickers with Japanese writing, Maybe saying the original model version.

Anything with エレクトロコイン or チェリーバー on it?

It seems to differ from all the other cherry bars I can find.
heres a video of one in action. But you can see it has well different everything.
belly glass, reels graphics, reel surrounds.

Ive found a video of it on youtube also, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWA_8rGIink this one seems to look exactly the same as mine, but the quality is a bit subpar.

as for resetting and changing the odds, I cant find the "odds changing button" any idea where that would be?
Moreover when I turn the machene on, it will flash "6" in the bank, which im guessing is the odds, then the "Collect" will change to 88 and the bank will read 20, Pressing the 3 buttons to nudge changes what the bank reads, 5, 10 or 20

    Looking for some help.

I am new to the hobby, and I purchased a Cherry Bar machine. Model # 9160 Serial # 005836

I have power to the door and no power to the main machine. Are there any fuses that I might be missing?

I have cleaned and reseated all ribbon connectors and checked that the grounding is in place and working.

Cleaned the reels and made sure that everything is tight and seated.

ANY help or guidance is appreciated.

I'm annoyed at myself for not noticing this post sooner...Or rather I DID notice it but paid it no mind because I know nothing about pachislo repairs except the very basics. However I would like to post this in case other Cherry Bar posts from the UK pop up, as it might help offer advice in the future. Long story short...

This Cherry Bar is NOT a Pachislo.

MrGneiss was correct, Electrocoin did have modded pachislo in the UK in the past (things like Magic 777 and I believe Century 21 got it too), but while they were modded and played a closer game, Cherry Bar got a full conversion. Holds, nudges, properly displayed prizes, the lot. A proper UK fruit machine rebuilt with the same name into a pachislo cabinet. Therefore to offer help, this needs to be thought of as a UK fruit machine.

Now the numbers. The 6 in the CREDITS display is actually the jackpot that the machine is running at. The 88 should be the payout percentage. The 5, 10 and 20 will be the price of play (in pence). 5p play will be utter garbage to put it nicely. This machine will play a very simple one-payline game with holds and nudges. Anyone in the UK who knows machines such as MAGIC 7 or BAR-X 7 will get the gist of it. The bar of lights above the reels work as a 'Repeat Chance' function for the jackpot win.
I'd also be very much inclined to say that this has a full coin mechanism on it, not a simple comparator like other machines. It will need updating to newer 10ps due to the different metal compound. You might find it takes all manner of coins too. I know it's been months but I only just noticed this. Hope it helps in some way.
