    Default New pachinko museum

Hey all, so I put this post up in my Niche Collections thread at https://www.pachitalk.com/forums/sho...he-Collections
but I figured it's important enough to warrant it's own thread here.

I am happy to announce a brand new pachinko museum in Yokosuka by none other than pachinko historian Kazuo Sugiyama.

Read all about it and check the pictures here: https://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2...-pachinko.html

    Do you read Japanese well?

I have an entire thread of photos from the museum that could use help in translating to english: https://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2...-material.html
It'll take a long time, but slow and steady and maybe one day we can have all of that knowledge shared in English too.

I am also in need of general proof-reading! Message or email me if you think you can explain something better or provide a more accurate translation.

aaaaand here's the postcards Mr. Sugiyama sent me:

    WANTED: 10¥ games, pre-1950s machines, スマートボール (Smart Ball), payazzo/kronespill, Pickwick-style (~1905)
if you have any of these in North America, let's talk.

This is a great read, thanks for posting this. That first "pachislo" is neat too, I assume that was made for Western markets?

No, it's a Japanese machine. the design is based roughly around popular american slots of the day, but the "skill stop" aspect is uniquely Japanese.

That's interesting, I didn't think Japan had slots of any kind until far later. I looked up the machine and the only video I could find seemed to only have English text on it so I assumed it was an item made by Sega but for western markets.
