    Default Pachi-Slo Power Problem

I live in Texas and have recently purchased a Pachi-slo Double Diamond Type A and am having an issue with the lights dimming everytime I push any of the buttons and then when I get into a bonus stage it loses enough power that it actually shuts down but then comes back on, the guy I purchased it from has changed the transformer out and it gets extremely hot while playing...I was wondering if you can give me any advice on which one I need and where to get the correct transformer? Thanks for your time!

A hot transformer. Indicates its overloaded. Its probably the right voltage transformer. But the wrong VA rating.

Think of it like trying to start a car with 8x AA batteries. Its still 12 volts. But it doesn't have the power behind it.

Look on the machine for anything with a VA rating. Could be on the data plate with the serial number.
Once you got that number. I always go up a size or two.

The one that is in it says it is a 24V 40VA...everything I've read says it should be around a 5VA...I can't seem to find one in town here or online so I guess if you have a direct link to one for sale please let me know! I greatly appreciate your help and knowledge!

VA ÷ VOLTS = Maximum amp load

So, using this formula, a 40 VA rated 24 volt transformer has a maximum load of 1.67 amps. That is way to low to run just about any machine.

A machine like Double Diamond is commonly called a basic machine, meaning it's main feature are just the 3 reels. It doesn't take much amperage to run this machine, but I would guess you would need at the bare minimum, at least a 3 amp transformer. 75 VA
    ÷ 24VOLTS = 3.13 amp

What if...the HOKEY POKEY, is what it's all about?
