Default Lock Cam Help - 2002 Sankyo Fever Wanted

Alright - maybe you remember me from my last post about the glass, where I actually broke the class, but that allowed me to clean between the two sheets, so not really bad, but not really good - neutral, maybe?

I am attaching the picture of the Cam on the lock. The lock is a standard Omron and I followed this thread to remove the springs and tumblers and brass pieces:
    https://www.pachitalk.com/forums/loc...=65&linkid=546

It turns nicely now with a 9/16 allen wrench BUT I can NOT figure out how to set the cam so that it actually engages the up or down latches (to open just the class or to open the whole case).

When I got the machine it only had one screw holding in the lock. I am thinking, now, that it is mismatched and the cam that is with it is actually for a different machine. IF you have a Sankyo Fever Wanted, can you post a picture of the cam on the back of the lock? This is referred to as the "Trip Dog" in the post referenced above.

    Thanks in Advance!

Its worth a look through. I doubt they changed it that much between models. So good clear pictures in it.

Can you share a bit more context into what you’re trying to do? Do you need a door key or is the door locking mechanism broken?

Isn't it just 180deg round the wrong way. It's a rectangular shaft. So can only go on 2 ways. Well 4 if you reverse it. But then it would foul the lock case.

I have tried all 4 options. For two of them, there is a metal post of the Cam that prevents it from sitting correctly (and from being tightened with the retaining screw). For the other two, the cam doesn't reach far enough to actually engage the sliders. I am really hoping for a picture of someone else's cam on the same (or similar) machine, so I can figure out if mine is the wrong one. Over at the Sankyo site this is a 2002 machine. https://www.sankyo-fever.jp/history/...?tag=2000#2002 It looks like it is the same Frame as Fairy Land, Seven Mission, Tool, Saint, Egyptian, Pachi League, Decasaurus (2001) and Hutchin (2001). I don't know what this Frame is actually called, but it is a bright yellow with teal blue speaker covers. Thanks!

The lock itself now operates without a key but with a 9/16 Allen Wrench. What is wrong is that the cam on the back of the lock does not engage the up and down slider mechanisms, to either open the glass (turn clockwise) or the entire frame (turn counterclockwise). I think the machine came with the wrong cam. I am trying to see exactly with cams work with the Sankyo 2001 and 2002 Yellow Frames with the Teal Blue speaker grills.

BTW this is driving me nuts. I've worked on and restored Pinball machines for 20+ years. The wealth of info for pinball machines is stunning in comparison with what I am finding for Pachinko machines - wow!

THANK YOU THANK YOU. Mine is certainly different. It will never reach far enough to engage the slides. Guess I will now start the search for an actual replacement.

Not the same frame, or even brand...but, I had the same issue and found a selection of 5 cams to choose from. I started a thread to document my fix. None of the 5 were correct, but I was able to make it work. I won't bore you with the details, rather post this link to the thread. https://www.pachitalk.com/forums/sho...ght=omron+lock
    Hopefully it will be helpful!

Thank you - I'll take a look. I'm really hoping I can find the correct cam somewhere and avoid having to fabricate one myself!

Pachinko machines were never intended for home use. They are used for a year in the parlours then mostly scrapped.

We are fortunate to have the extremely small percentage of machines that even make it to the US.

Among frame styles, they never last for very long because the parlors want to keep the look of the machines fresh.

BTW, your machine is in the Tatsumaki/Tornado frame, available in a variety of colors.
    Gotta catch 'em all Pa-chink-o

Thanks for the Frame information. That really helps.

The Pinball market, early on, was sort of the same. Machines were designed to run 5 years or so, then be tossed. In fact, 70s an 80s machines have bad cabinet fade since the inks used in screen printing were not intended to last. But there was a lot of info out there,. since they were "on route" and there were lots of route operators, who needed to repair them, change settings, etc.

Newer Pinballs, especially Stern, often come in different varieties, with the high end aimed at collectors and the home market. Seeing new machines starting at over $10K is now not unusual.

Don't get me wrong! I like the challenge of the Pachinko machine repair. But I am so used to going to the web, finding a multitude of sites discussing Pinball machines, downloading schematics, etc etc that at time working on my Sankyo is daunting, scary AND frustrating! BUT THANK GOODNESS FOR PACHITALK.

I I read somewhere that by law pachinko machines can only be in a parlor for I believe 2 years. Don't know how true it is tho.

Before a Pachinko game is released, it goes through an independent certification process. Once it is certified, it is valid for 3 years which is where the requirement comes from. It cannot be renewed. Here's an example of what the certification looks like:
