Default IAMA pachi player who cannot get out to play Ask me anything

SO the forum asked me twice recently that I havent been posting, and why not? The reason is......I can't get out to play! Coronavirus has pretty much shafted 2020 so Ive no reports or reviews at all. ANYWAY....Enough about that, I thought why not do an "Ask me anything" type post to pass the time. Can be anything pachi related or not, (No personal/icky stuff though) and I'll respond whenever. Something to pass the time.

Not to my knowledge. TBH Im in no position to give parlour news but I do check P-World. No Astro Boy there yet. Im still going hunting for D-Clock when I get an opportunity! Great little bonus system if you can get it. Play until 3 Regulars in a row, with a 50/50 reg/big bonus ratio.

OK, the past... R. Kelly sang about turning back the hands of time.....Yeah less said about him the better. As for going forward in time, Id have no complaints about going into stasis for the next six months and letting this all blow over.

If these don't work, it's just a jump to the left...

All the people that wait in line before a parlor opens, are they all pachi sharks?
What are they looking for specifically in a choice machine?

Oh now this is an interesting one, and Im not completely sure myself. However, I think theyre doing it for a number of reasons.
    1) They did their brains in a machine and are praying they can get back on it first thing
    2) They are checking the stats from yesterday's play and hoping to find a good machine that isn't reset. Then they may well settle down all day on it. I've seen older people later at night walk around with notepads and clipboards, actually taking down machine numbers and statistics for a more efficient 'attack' the next day! So this reason is more 'shark' like, although different to UK slot sharks, they cannot target a specific person losing. They have to do it all off stats.
    3) New machine with limited units
    4) Nothing to do and hate wife/grandkids

That really depends how Im feeling. Waffles are more consistent in terms of getting it right. On a good day pancakes are better, but there are a lot of places here that make dreadful dry pancakes that are no fun to eat at all. I'll always be having them for dessert or breakfast though.

Pancakes much more so than waffles! Hence I enjoy a good waffling whenever the opportunity arises....Either that be eating said items, or talking about God knows what for an extended period of time...!

Do you play pachislo an equal amount? Why or why not?
Do you ever play arcade games that aren't pachi related? The horse race ones?

I used to play more! I'd typically have a longer slot session than pachinko when I was on an all day run, but this seems to have changed...Mainly due to machine availability, time needed, and general newer game mechanics. I still play 20 yen slots sometimes albeit I wish I didn't really....But the 5 yen slot area is now full of awful 5.9 types, and jugglers. Another reason is that my local is a 1yen pachinko only shop, so I'll spend a lot of time in there. There are no real good 5 yen slot shops except one about 90 minutes away, and last visit it was just too crowded. You couldn't find a seat on anything. If I've got all day though, I will sit down and have a proper row...Prepare my bankroll, time, and energy drinks. But got to be in the right frame of mind for it really.

I also played a lot of the coin pushers, still do now if there's an arcade about! But Id usually ignore them unless I know Im going to be a regular visitor to the arcade. Otherwise the coins are just going to be troublesome to get rid of

What are 5.9 and Juggler pachislos, and why do are they awful to you?

Has there ever been any difficulties in cashing out?

5.9 Types are awful spec machines. As Im sure you know we have/had 5-Types in Japan. They were your standard ART bonus game with lots of assist, and at the start a decent average coin payout per bonus spin. Later on, this 5-type developed in a way, so the bonuses became longer, but the average coin payout ratio dropped, dwon to around 2 coins per spin (maybe less in rare cases). Now, there's a new Type-6 machine, which is a little lower variance but could have an average coin payout of 6 or so per bonus spin (Re.Zero has an 8 coin average, get in!) Now these bonuses are fairly rare to hit, but they are a good battle. The downside on 6-Type is, the payout limit is 2400 coins. I do like a good session on 6-Types.
A 5.9 Type is inbetween the 5 and 6-Types. However it's inherited the worst features. The average coin payout is awfully low, the bonuses are not the most generously awarded, AND it has the payout limit of 2400. What a waste of time and money.
Now, Jugglers! I love them! I really do! Ther are the A-Type machines that have a limit of 360 coins or so, but just pay out all the coins with 15-coin spins one after another. The thing is, I like a session while I play. Jugglers do not give a proper session like others. Yeah you could stay on them for the chance of another bonus rolling quickly, but honestly at 20 yen...Hit a quick Big Bonus, I have 60 bucks in the back pocket. Im walking. So yeah great machines for a little hit, but they have very little session potential for me.

Cashing out! What problems do you mean exactly? There have been some! I'll anticipate situations and let you know what has happened. If you want any more information then let me know.
Cashing out Finding the desk is easy and the staff are always friendly. It's easy to get the chips. Occasionally they want you to cash out on each machine separately, but it's easy to just feign ignorance.
Exchange Rate Yeah sometimes you have to pay a bit off the top. Equal exchange parlours are not the best in terms of playability actually. Occasionally you will get a parlour that has a ridiculous exchange rate and you end up having to forfeit 25% of your balls and that. It's a pain but often too late to find out. I honestly prefer the unequal exchange at the start, eg 180 balls for 200 yen. This makes the cashout calculations much much easier.
Finding the 'Shop' This has been difficult at times! It's been ridiculous at times and Goobie would know too! However, if you end up walking round the parlour enough looking lost, the desk attendants know that you have changed up and are obviously looking for the 'shop', so either they, or a local will help you out.
