Default CRA and CR Versions of the Same Games

    Hi Guys,

Just wondering about something. Had a search around and ended up more confused than when I started!

What the heck is the difference between CR and CRA versions of the same games, and which would be more desirable to play at home?

I've seen CRA machines called "light" machines, is this because the odds (1 in 99 compared to 1 in 378 if I understand that correctly) of hitting a jackpot are much higher, but that payout would be much smaller?

To me that would make it a lot more desirable for home use right?

    Cheers

    Cris

Yes, the lighter the better for home use. Huge payouts aren’t as meaningful at home with no cash on the line. (Presumably)

I think CRA is used by Heiwa as their sweet range. Not sure about the others

    What does “sweet range” mean?

Low variance machines are known as '甘デジ' which says Amadeji once romanised. The 甘 means "Sweet" as in sweet tasting, or in this case, less scary in terms of odds and variance. The Deji means Digital (basically not a hanemono)

So a CRA would be Card Reader (Amadeji) and mean the machine is soft and easy to hit.
The only other variation Ive seen is CRF which Sankyo use (The F stands for Fever, which is what they say instead of Bonus.)

    MAX (1/399) None around now
    ミドル
ライトミドル I believe 1/199 and above
    ライト
    甘デジ/遊パチ 1/119 or below
These are fairly subjective though (apart from the old MAX)
