Default Yamasa Wild Wolf - can't get it take tokens

I've got a Wild Wolf from Yamasa that I'm working on for a neighbor. Everything appears to be working, but I can't get the machine to take the tokens, it just rejects them to the return hopper.

At first I thought that the optical sensor was bad, but I pulled it and it tested good. I've gone through the reset instuctions multiple times and the machine looks like it takes the reset and will go into what looks like an attract mode after sitting idle for a while (colors start to change out in different patterns on the front of the machine), but it still won't accept the tokens.

If I hold the small solenoid under the coin slot in place while dropping a token it will take the correct path to the coin hopper, but won't give a credit on or start the machine up.

Any ideas on what to look at next on it to get it running?

    Thanks,

    -JM

I've tested everything except this part and don't know what it is or how to go about testing it. Anyone out there know the answer to either one or both of these questions?

I have tied it closed so that the coin passes through to the coin hopper insted of rejecting it, but it still doesn't add credits.

    Thanks,

    - JM

I've tested everything else on the machine, but don't know what this part is called or how to test it. Here's some pics of the part.

Sounds like then machine isn't ready to play yet. thats why its not energizing the solenoid and not counting the tokens as they pass through.

Is there an insert token light on the front panel?

When I initially turn it on I get the Error E-4 message (the LEDs all show, even though there's a missing line in the picture).

If I go through all of the reset steps then it comes up with no error message, but still won't accept tokens or show credits.

Any ideas of what I'm missing or what the error message means? It came with a small booklet, but it's just setup and reset info, nothing on errors or troubleshooting.

    Thanks,

    -JM

Another not obvious thing to check is SOME machines have leds on the main board to indicate that a button or lever is pressed. Its good practice to check you are getting a signal from each button. key switch sensor etc.

Thank you for posting the error codes. I’ve been looking for them and also the reset sequence for the Yamasa. Switches on the power supply are different than the others so I thought maybe the sequence was also different. Mine has an E2 error and won’t except tokens.

Hi jlmjr1957, I’m having the same problem with tokens not being accepted but I have error code E2.
I have tried some of the reset procedures but thought maybe the Yamasa was different since the power supply is unlike the others. I was trying to read your reset procedure but the picture was too blurry. I was wondering if you could post another picture or just write them down. Thanks

Hi Drunkenclam, I see where the lights go on and off when pushing a button or lever. When doing nothing but opening the door, I have 4 lights on all the time. Is this abnormal?

Hope this helps, I wrote down all my switch/sensor inputs on the mother board. Still haven't found what "S" is for, I'm guessing a spare channel.

It is to notify the parlor operator that the Overflow Tokens Bin is full and needs emptying. The hole is if the parlor has a conveyer system that the Overflow Tokens will fall to.
