    Default King Camel

I like how the main reals are working on the KC. Interesting play! But on the top reels other than starting every time you start the main reals and the payouts correspond the what's on the top reels what else do they do? I have the DDK and the top reels do not start all the time but they do more than just let you know what you may get at the end of the spin.

As far as I can see, the top reels on the KC are about as useful as the "pachinko" part on Arraking. I have just come to totally ignore them, but the play on the bottom more than makes up for the lack on the top.

Yes I was just playing the KC and came to the exact conclusion! I was just focusing on the main reels and ignoring the top reels. Maybe it is because it has the led next to the reels and they feel it can't really have two types of bonuses. I think it would have been better off not having the top reels. The hearing that the top reels did not do much is the reason I didn't get one sooner.

the top 3 reels on the daito dragon just sit there and do nothing.

    http://www.pachinkomuseum.com/gendai..._25/index.html

they only light up and come into play when you hit the jackpot round.

    it's basically like a 3 reel machine.

Just to break up the play a little bit, try eye shooting the top reels instead.

I tried eye-shooting the top reels. Nothing.

But then I'm no good at eye-shooting anyway.

Gaku has done it again. The mystery of the top reels is revealed.

Some pachislo buffs may wonder, "Hey, what happened to strict regulations on the reel movement?" It is the genius of King Camel -- this machine's official main reels are the smaller reels in the head!! Technically, the larger reels in the middle of the body are additional reels. This enables the larger reels to change moving direction, to go faster than 80 rpm, and to slip 21 steps at most!
As copied from Big Bear Pachislo Shop.

The King Camel breakdown is now available.

And to think the top reels are not useless after all! Someone was thinking over time on that one!

OK. I have to rate the KC. The looks of the machine still don't do it for me but the play is awesome! I have never sean a machine do such freaky things with the reels! I give it a A It would be an A+ if I liked the theme better.

The reels are certainly it's strong suit but with average, less than infectious music and the Japanese voice, it's a solid B+ in my books. It doesn't even come close to a Spin Luck or Dragon Dice. It's simply not in the class of a premium machine.

The serial number on my KC is in the 35000 range. Dragon Dice is number 914. So there ya go. Is it a cool machine? Yep, absolutely. I like the KC's lights and the case design, and I recently started to enjoy playing it again. None of the vendors sell them as premiums...there are just too many of 'em.

Now if you look at the paytable on the belly glass, it only refers to the symbols on the top reels. The only thing on the big reels that pays anything are the bonus symbols (and there are an ungodly amount of them) and the bells.

Did we really need Gaku to tell us that?

Can someone explain the whole serial number thing to me? I would think that the more popular and enjoyable game play the machine has the more machines would be made. Does this not follow logic? They make these machines to make money not to be collector items so a machine that has a low amount of serial numbers means the less popular they were in the parlors. Correct?
    and a few others.

If there is a limited supply of a popular pachislo to the parlor and they get only so many in and you see a long line waiting to play that machine are you going to think it is an bad machine to put your money into or a good machine and that machine will always be in demand.
Maybe it is the manufactures way of making more of a demand for a particular machine.
Or the manufacture didn't think it would go over as well as it did and they made only so many.
Maybe the manufacture can get twice to three times as much for a particular machine and the parlors only order a limited supply.
Or the parlors get the heads up as to what is coming out and have to pre order and they did not order many so the manufacture only made enough to fill the pre orders. Your guess is as good as mine, but the amount that is made does not dictate here in the us what is going to be a popular machine.

Why yes we did. Gaku provided us more than just the obvious payout information. He provided some great information on the fact the main reels are really the top reels as opposed to the larger reels as we tend to be used to.

Gaku is Da Man! I did, however, notice one discrepancy between his review and my machine. In his review he states that there is no payout for the cherry on the left reel. On my KC I always get a 2 medal payout for the cherry. Has anyone else noticed this or do I have a screwed up machine? Perhaps ths is a variable that can be set somehow? Any insights?

I never noticed about the cherry, PF. I know it sure sounds like you've won something though.

I think my KC is jealous right now though. I've been playing the other machines and it got suddenly stingy. Right now it's hopper is full to overflowing. I think I better go play it and see if it gets over its jealousy.
